I have to admit there is a simplistic elegance to many of the guns Broughster makes. Gloria introduced me to them with her R3, the modest and clean pistol that’s always been her favorite sidearm. But they make other variants following the same theme. I picked up an R8 some time back. Like its larger R3 brother, the Broughster R8 is a basic firearm built on the idea that a simple gun will always work when you need it to. In certain respects, it’s simpler than I prefer, designed around a manual action and a primitive revolving cylinder that holds five shots. But the pistol is small and still packs enough punch to be useful in a close fight, which I thought might be a handy combination.
