The MDLR grenade launcher was famous for its variable primer, quick adjust adhesive shells. You could bounce them down hallways or stick them to walls, depending on your needs, and set the delay on the subsequent explosion to match. They were supposed to be the answer to any problem a soldier might face. There was just one flaw in the design—user adjustments to the timers could cause the entire magazine to prime without warning. The people carrying the things didn’t like that, particularly when magazines started exploding, so there was a massive recall. Only a handful or so of the things survived, all nonfunctional. Which made them valuable collector pieces.
