By the time I passed the raider, my missiles reached their targets and slammed into the engines of the other two raiders. I wasn’t sure if they were out of the fight or not, but even if I’d only damaged them, it would give me the advantage of maneuverability against them, and I still had the armor advantage against the fighters.
I wheeled the Endurance, taking aim on the closest fighter as I prepared to kick into a tumbling attack. But instead of engaging, the handful of fighters that had closed in suddenly broke off—returning to standby positions near the largest of the raiders.
