The SEDs are an odd class of g*n. Standing for spontaneous explosions at a distance, most who know about them tend to consider them tools rather than firearms. Mention a SED and they’ll assume you’re talking about excavation or demolition work. But SEDs are ancient tech, maybe as old as warlocks, and just as hard to find.
Unlike warlocks’ use of silvers, no one’s quite sure what powers a SED. All we know is when you pull the trigger of a SED, it results in a magnificent explosion. The primary drawback is the explosion is always a set distance from the g*n, and the distance varies from SED to SED. This isn’t a problem if you can design an excavation rig around one, but if you’re looking to do some damage in a firefight, that rigid distance isn’t a desirable trait.
