Chapter 14: Two people in the same house

When I first came to Dominic's villa, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. It is not only magnificent but also extremely luxurious, modern and shimmering. The villa is located in a secluded area, has a large garden and there are many maids cleaning every day.

Compared to Joan's mansion, Dominic's mansion is really too expensive and outstanding. Just by looking at this house, I understood why my father longed to be acquainted with the Arnolds so much.

I can't deny that Dominic Arnold is the golden bachelor man any woman can aspire to. He is good at business and can easily manipulate the stock market, make a profit and become richer and richer. He had never relied on the Arnold family background or his father, Donald Arnold. Dominic founded the company himself and made it prosperous and flourishing, and Dominic's company even provided a lot of capital for the Arnold family company.

Currently, Dominic is the chairman of two leading companies in the world, owning trillions of assets along with undisputed power.

Dominic's personal life is quite private, it is said that he has been with several famous models, but that is just an unconfirmed rumor. No one knows about Dominic's life nor the secrets he is holding.

A man like Dominic is both attractive and dangerous.

After taking me to the villa, Dominic went into his office with his secretary Ethan to discuss business. Meanwhile, I'm free to tour this new place.

The maid Dominic sent me was a rather young girl, only a few years older than me, her name was Ruby. She worked at Arnold's house for five years, after which she was selected by Dominic's housekeeper to clean the mansion. Ruby's appearance does not make people remember if they only met once, Ruby is of Filipino descent, quite open personality.

When I entered my room, Ruby was helping me put my clothes in the closet.

"Hello Lady Esther Joan, I'm Ruby, your maidservant."

"Hi Ruby." I replied amicably. "Ruby, I wonder if there are rules in Dominic's mansion to follow?"

"Miss, there are no rules for you. So you don't have to worry."

"Um, thanks." I was about to go to the kitchen to get some food when I suddenly saw a dress hanging in my closet. "Ruby, that dress doesn't seem to be mine?"

"Miss, this dress is a tailored evening gown for you. Sir Dominic has instructed me to wear it for you today to attend a party with him."

"What party is it?" I asked.

"Miss, I don't know. You can ask Mr. Dominic Arnold."

I frowned slightly, remembering Dominic's unfriendly attitude towards me, and I gave up on asking him any other questions. Anyway, it's my job to obediently do as he asks, without complaining and without bothering him.

The phone rings with notification bells

It was Garrick who texted me, he asked me why he suddenly left. The message was sent an hour ago but I didn't notice. Just now, Garrick continued to text me another message.

"Esther, I didn't mean to ask your private matter, but because I was worried about you, I still wanted to ask. Are you having trouble with the Arnold family? If so, I can help you."

I was touched by Garrick's gentle warmth and concern, however, my problem was not simple, and I could not reveal it to Garrick either.

"No, no problem at all. Dominic knows my father so he just dropped by Malibu Academy and brought me home." I replied.

"Really? From what I know of Dominic, he's not that friendly." Garrick responded to me pretty quickly.

"Maybe he's changed? Haha, you don't have to worry about me anyway, I'm fine Garrick."

"Okay. Remember that if you have any trouble, you can come to me."

"Alright. Thanks, btw."

I turned off the phone screen and lay on the bed. I didn't know when I fell asleep, it wasn't until Ruby knocked on the door and announced that I needed to get ready for the party that I woke up.

This is probably the first time I have worn such a gorgeous and haughty outfit. The purple dress hugs my curves tightly, the back is open and the hem is cut up to my thighs. The fabric is so soft that I feel like I'm touching a fluffy feather.

Ruby is very smart and skillful, she helps me to put my hair up and put on a jewel-encrusted bow. It was Ruby who did my makeup, luxurious and noble make-up tone, the main highlight was the seductive nude lipstick. Looking at myself in the mirror, I almost didn't recognize myself.

I look like a beautiful and powerful lady, with sharp eyes, radiant aura, and perfect figure. Perhaps, I myself did not know that I could become this gorgeous and outstanding.

When I got out, Dominic was already waiting in the car. Ethan opened the door and invited me into the car. Dominic always seems to be busy, even when sitting in the car, he still opens his laptop and takes the time to watch the fluctuations in the stock market.

Seeing me sit down next to him, he glanced over slightly, then after a few seconds, he looked away from him, not showing any special expression.

"Next time, tell Ruby to prepare an extra scarf or coat. It's pretty cold outside."

I don't think Dominic notices this, but I can't imagine that he's showing any interest in me, he's just reminding me as a fiancé.

"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind."

"This dress suits you very well. Next time buy a few more, I want to see you wearing such dresses." Dominic hands me a black bank card.

I guess this is the benefit a mistress has. Dress up gorgeously, put on beautiful makeup and please the boss. Therefore, I did not refuse but took his card and said thank you.

Dominic was really quiet, it wasn't until the car stopped in front of a luxury restaurant that Dominic turned off the engine and took my hand to step out of the car.
