Bright lights. The noise of the world disappeared and left me with the screaming of metal and agony. I flew, catapulted through the air until it met another object of impact. Shock crashed through me, silencing anything and everything else. No car horns, no shouting voices, no cries of pain. My body slammed into the asphalt, but the pain never came. Instead, the sound of a thousand heartbeats rushed through my ears, like a silencing wind in a tunnel. I tried to flex my fingers, but my limbs seemed like strangers to me.
