A legal firm both families had used separately over the years, a conference room on the nineteenth floor with a long table and good light and the specific impersonal quality of spaces that belonged to no one. Roman and Sera at opposite ends of the table, which was the professional arrangement and also the only one that would have allowed anyone in the room to breathe normal
