Kenna stepped out of her father’s vehicle and her feet crunched on the rocks of the gravel drive. She stared up at the pack house in amazement. It was more of a castle than a house. Her father’s pack house was a large mansion with 18 bedrooms but this was a whole other level of big.
“Dearest Nyx. That’s one big ass castle” Dean whistled as he stepped out behind her.
“Show some respect, boy” Deans father emerged from the front seat smacking him upside the head. Dean’s father, Jarrett, was her father’s Beta. He had the same Stormy grey eyes as Dean but his hair was so blonde it was almost white.
A woman in a beautifuly form fitted dress and sharp features emerged followed by three omegas.
“Greetings gentlemen and lady?” Her bright blue eyes lingered questioningly on Kenna.
“Greetings Luna Frigg. I am Alpha Kieran of the Opal pack. And this is my daughter Kenna, future Alpha of the Opal pack” Kieran placed a hand over his heart and bowed to show respect. Kenna followed suit and the raised back up in time to see the shock before the Luna replaced it with a fake hospitality smile.
“How great it is to finally meet you. World has traveled of your pack and the first female alpha.” She bowed. Kenna could feel the energy pulsing off of the Luna. She disapproved of what she saw and was probing with her power to see how the girl could be an alpha.
With wicked smile Kenna pushed back with her power and the Lunas eyes flared as she stumbled back.
“Kenna!” Kieran snapped when he realized what had happened.
“Sorry father. Luna Frigg, I would appreciate it if you did not use your power on me. I understand these are your lands and I apologize for my retaliation but I would refrain from doing such a thing again as it is rude.” Kenna smiled sweetly though her words were laced with venom.
“My apologies. My curiosity got the best of me. Now excuse me I must meet the other Alphas.” Her smile was as fake as Kenna’s as she walked away clipping her long stilettos over the walkway to the other Alphas.
“She’s going to get us into a war.” Jarrett sighed as the omegas lead them into the pack house.
“I thought she handled that well.” Dean chuckled.
Kennas cheeks flashed red as she stared at her father who had a disparaging look on his face. But he remained silent as they were lead into a large foye.
The marble floor beneath their feet was black with veins of dark green running through and the ceiling was high and vaulted made of large grey stones and dark wooden beams.
They were lead to an elevator which once inside Kenna noticed there were five floors. With the fifth labled as penthouse. A small omega with mousy brown hair hit the third floor button.
“What is on all these floors?” Dean asked and the omega jumped in surprise.
“Uhm…well… the first floor is the communal area with a kitchen, dining, living space, movie theatre, game room, and meeting room. The second floor is where the on staff Omegas live, so maids, cooks, butlers, servers. The third floor is where we house guests. The fourth floor is for the family of the alphas as well as his betas family. And the penthouse is where the Alpha lives.” Her voice was small and quiet and it shook as she spoke.
A loud ding brought her back to attention as the doors slid open to reveal the third floor guest apartments.
“There are thirteen apartments on this floor. One for each pack. As you are the guests of honor you will be in suite one. It has four bedrooms each with its own bath, living space, and kitchen.” The omega handed my father an envelope. “This contains the code for the key pad on the door to the apartment. As well as a map of the territory. Please let me know if there is anything you need. My name is Lilly and my number is in the card inside.” She kept her head down averting her eyes.
Kenna noticed Deans perplexed face and she smiled when she realized this might be his mate. The girl Lilly brushed past him and he closed his eyes and breathed deeply. Her body tensed at the contact and she stopped for a moment before rushing off back into the elevator.
“What was that about?” She nudged Dean in the ribs and his eyes snapped open.
“Nothing.” He grumped as their fathers opened the way into the apartment.
The walls were a dark green with floor to ceiling windows allowing lots of natural light to illuminate the space.
Kenna and Dean chose the two rooms to the left and settled there things in.
Kennas room was the same dark green as the living space with dark brown furniture and black bedding. Gold accents were all around the room making it look dark and regal. She opened the black out curtains to be greeted by a view of a beautiful lake.
“Kenna it is almost time to go down to the meeting. You should get ready” Her father came into the room holding a dress bag. As he left it on the bed she glaired at him.
“Why do I need to wear a dress?” She growled. She hated dresses. They had no room to move quickly in.
“Just open the bag and look before you rip my head off.” He laughed.
Kenna hesitantly opened the bag to see a shimmering loose black top and pants to match. It looked like the fabric had caught the night sky with twinkling stars.
“You can even wear your combat boots with it and it will still look beautiful while showing them you’re just as powerful as all the other alphas in that room.” Kieran kissed her forehead before walking out of the room to leave Kenna to dress.

Thirty minutes later Kenna was dressed and ready for the meeting. Her strawberry blonde hair coiled in a loose bun on top of her head. The outfit had down what her father had said it would. Although she was a plus sized girl her arms were muscled and the loose fabric of the top fell in such a way that it accentuated them not hid them.
“You look amazing.” Her father said with pride in his eyes. Jarrett and Dean stayed silent but had approving looks. They left the room with their betas flanking them and headed for the first level.
As they made their way to the meeting room they knew they were close by the sounds of arguing. The elders were yelling at each other over her again. She made out the words Opal and not fit for a leader multiple times.
The omegas stationed at the door way opened the large wooden double doors to show a room with a long table with highback chairs on either side and what appeared to almost be a throne at the other end.
Kenna froze at the sight of the man sitting in the throne like chair. His dark brown hair was cut short on the side but long on the top to the point where it fell off to one side. If he spiked it he’d have one hell of a Mohawk. His face was relaxed and his jaw was covered with a dusting of dark hair. His lips were full and lashes long. A rough scar cut through his cheek down to the corner of his upper lip making it seem To be in a permanent sneer.
His eyes snapped open and focused on her. They were the same blue as the lake she could see from her window.
Mate. Clover growled loud in her head and Kenna felt a pit open in her stomach before she found her place among the other Alpha’s.
