“I’m in pain. It's a good thing that I’m still able to joke around,” August replied, wanting to shrug a little only to give up as he simply continued to lie there on the bed.
August spoke a little more with Hara before the nurses and doctors came in carrying a tray that showed they were about to administer another set of drugs into his IV.
By the time they were done tinkering and checking and had left, August looked like he was merely a few inches away from falling into a deep sleep.
“We should leave…” Deli suddenly said, even with the slightly reluctant look on Hara’s face as she stood beside his bed.
“Fine. We should leave him to rest. We can always come back another time,” Hara nodded, even as her eyes slid up and down like she was doing a final check that everything was alright.
