THE CROSSOVER

CHAPTER 4. THE MEETING

Audrey had always disliked uncertainties. Since she has decided to marry Hudson Benson, then she doesn’t want to drag the matter further. After eating, Audrey went to mother Miller to ask for Hudson's contact information.

The mother was still unconvinced, and asked tentatively, “Have you decided on your decision Audrey? I feel you should think things through”.

Audrey smiled and said, “No need. I think it's alright”.

After getting the phone number, she returned to her room with her phone in hand and the number on display. When the phone was dialed out, Audrey felt a slight hesitation in her heart as she thought about her life. This really was the most strange encounter Audrey had ever had, she hadn't been in love for more than 30 years before. Once she crossed, she just skipped the love stage and landed directly into marriage. If this wasn’t a strange event she didn’t know what else was. Audrey felt her emotions become subtle, she comforted herself, anyways she had always wanted to settle down. Hudson was considered the best choice in any aspect and she didn’t see anything wrong with it.

She was still thinking, the phone connected and a cold and magnetic sound came from the phone, “Hey”.

Audrey froze slightly, calmed down quickly and calmly said, “It’s me Audrey”.

He didn’t seem to think of it over there and said quietly, “I know it’s you. Is everything alright?”

“I agree with you about what you came to my house to talk about. Can we talk face-to-face tomorrow”.

“Yes we can”.

“Okay. You can decide the time and place, you can choose the location for the meeting, just send it to my mobile phone”.

“If you want, you can set it according to your preferences”, he said thoughtfully.

“No”, Audrey smiled. “I don’t care about these things. I don’t have much work these days, so everything can be arranged by you. You can look at your time and work arrangement, choose a time that is most convenient for you. Time and location”.

“Okay”, said calmly over there, “then I’ll send it to you later”.

“That’s good”, Audrey responded, “then I won't bother you anymore. We’ll meet tomorrow”.

“Okay”.

Audrey hung up the phone, sat on the bed and breathed a sigh of relief ‘it's okay, at least he’s a good speaker’.

On the other side of the phone, Hudson looked at the photos on the computer, his mood was low and his eyes were cold. It took a long time for him to move the mouse and close the photos, leaned his back on the chair and lowered his eyes slowly concealing the complex emotions in those black and white eyes.

When she woke up the next day, she looked at her fragile appearance which still made her feel awkward and sighed with helpless emotions. Looking at her face in the mirror, she thought that it was really worthy of being a super star, the goddess-like appearance, high cheekbones, peach curved eyes with red plucked lips and a beautiful set of pearl white teeth, slightly raised eyebrows looking a little proud with some charm. Audrey felt that such a face looks really soft and easy to bully, too feminine and too beautiful, the attention was really going to be troublesome. When comparing this face to her previous face she felt that she really had fallen really low, though she was beautiful previously, at least she had a handsome charm to her, her body had been built with years of taekwondo and martial arts training, she was well toned. Running her hands down her body, she felt the full curves in right proportions producing the ever famed hour glass shape. She had always thought that it's impossible to be born with it, but now, she understood that it was really possible. She really needed to build up these muscles, though it can never be fully achieved, she needed to build up strength. She quickly refreshed and cooked lunch for everyone to Sharon's unbelievable eyes and then out to prepare for the appointment.

“Are you going to see Hudson?”Sharon asked her.

“Yes”.

“Are you going to marry him?”Sharon couldn’t believe it. She understood Audrey's temperament most.

“Yes”.

“Are you sure about your decision? I know you don’t love him and I also know that you were in a relationship, for you to break up your previous relationship for a marriage with a man you know nothing about, it's really risky”.

Audrey hugged her arm, “My previous boyfriend broke my heart. He cheated on me with someone else in our own home. It broke my belief in love. I really prefer this arrangement the most, after all he is the most wealthy man in this city, and the second most wealthy in the country. What do I have to lose?”.

“i didn’t know your boyfriend did that to you. I am sorry”, Sharon explained, “I just don’t want you to regret it later”.

“Rest assured sis, I know what I’m doing”. Sharon was worried.

Audrey prepared to leave, “OK sis, don’t overthink. Just go eat your meal”.

“Speaking of this, when did you learn to cook?” Sharon asked puzzled.

“I acted in a variety show for a few months, so I had to learn a few dishes”.

“Wow my baby sister is really going far, you can now even participate in variety shows. What is the name? I need to watch it and show my support”.

“It hasn’t been broadcasted yet”, Audrey smiled and waved, “I’m gone”, she turned and walked out.

The place where she and Hudson agreed to meet was not far away. Hudson probably chose to consider her and chose a private restaurant close to her house.when Audrey pushed open the door to the private room and entered, she saw that Hudson had arrived. He was sitting on the side looking through the menu, and as soon as he heard the sound of the door opening, he looked up. Four sets of eyes met and the atmosphere turned awkward and they felt a little embarrassed.

Audrey had thought about what her fiance would look like before she came. She guessed that he should look good after all he was the protagonist of the book and as always, all protagonists always looked good. Audrey got Stunned after seeing Hudson, she realized that her imagination did no justice to him. She had seen many good looking people, some are even really good looking. They were either handsome, elegant, approachable or extraordinary, but at the moment she saw Hudson, she was still stunned. He looked more like a noble son than the young movie emperor mentioned in the book sitting there proudly and spotlessly. He behaved casually, but with a kind of elegance, he looked at you gently but with great and immense indifference, like a breeze blowing in the dark night, leaving fragrance on the air without leaving traces.

Audrey smiled at him, nodded and sat down.

Hudson also nodded slightly, he looked at Audrey and there was not much emotion in his eyes but he was surprised that the woman in front of him was more beautiful than in the photos.

Hudson is a typical arrogant son of heaven. He has an excellent family environment and is outstanding in every way. He inevitably brings out the pride of wealthy children, and when he looks at others, he looks somewhat condescending. He is willing to marry Audrey, the biggest reason is to keep his mind away from those he should no longer think about and the rest is that Audrey just satisfies his peace and rest and harmony. Just when he was about to give up and take care of himself, the Miller family arrived at the city, finding out that there had been an arranged marriage between the families, and seeing the siblings born so beautifully, especially Audrey, who looked better than her sister. So delicate and eye-catching.

All Hudson knows about her comes only from the detective's data of folders and photos. He doesn’t mind that the overly delicate mind is not sound enough, but the self-righteous beautiful i***t is a little lively around him. Anyways he just wanted to have someone and at the same time seek true love. Hudson never really had any hope in the so-called love, but he was ready to compromise. He had two requirements for his marriage partner: Grounded with good self-control and good looks.

As long as she has good self-control, she can be grounded and not cause troubles for him, he is satisfied. Even though there isn't any love between, he doesn’t care for the affection, money or cultural background; as long as she is beautiful and has a pleasing character he is good. He deeply felt that this requirement wasn’t in any way excessive.

Audrey satisfies his two conditions, although she was a bit stupid and does things carelessly, this kind of mindless person is easier to control and understand.

But now looking at the calm and collected person in front of him, he thinks that she looks brighter than what was shown in the photos. Even if she doesn’t say or do anything, just sitting there quietly is already really attractive.

Hudson was very satisfied with the person and the marriage, when she continues like this, even if she acts foolishly, it can be forgiven.

“See if there is anything you would love to eat”, he whispered.
