whispers..every night I thought it was a vivid dream but not knowing that my parents were discussing what to do and how will they tell me.
I could not wait to be done with my final year in college, everyone treated me differently and that is what I was. some days I'd think something and to my surprise it would become true.like this other time when Stacy pushed me in the corridors I wished for her to trip and fall and it happened seconds later and everyone laughed at her and I couldn't believe it but there was Treasure, Carly,Sabrina and Anna. Who always looked at me as if they knew what/who I was and what I did but being me I always played dumb....
I got home after class "mom I'm home"...but no reply.looked in the kitchen and then the lounge no sign of my mom...well as usual I went upstairs to my room ,when I got there something just pulled me to peep out of the window, viewing into our backyard garden....there was my mom with her plants and a circle of women ..to my curiosity I walked slowly close to the window and somehow I could hear them chanting in a language I couldn't understand but a burning sensation went through my body and I fell into a trance and chanted what they were chanting and suddenly I couldn't remember what happened after.
I woke up on my bed with my mom staring at me with these circle of women murmuring around me,when I opened my eyes silence filled the room with all eyes on me." baby are you ok,how are you feeling?"my mom asked...my head was pounding and I was trying to sit up, trying to answer...."my head hurts ,"but at the same time I felt like I was else where ..."what's going on mom?"As she sighed "baby you sure gave us a scare"as she places her hands on her chest.with confusion all over my face I asked who were these women
But my mom didn't answer,told me it's ok they just her friends and I should rest...then they walked out of my room, started murmuring again but not a single word was said to me
So I decided to rest as my mom said but as I fell asleep I dreamt but it felt real(in a forest on a hill top I'm with you these circle of people with one male and female in the middle as I walked towards them they bowed and said "you are of age now time to embrace your gifts,meet your mate and rule the coven and pack)".I jumped up as I woke up,sweating to my surprise my dad was standingat my door looking at me in fact he was staring at me with weary eyes."Dad what's wrong?"I asked with worry."Raven it's time we have a talk,baby girl there's no more time and you are of age now...so we need to tell you the truth now,"sternly he said but sounded like a command at the same time. As he was about to talk while walking towards my bed sitting beside me,my mom storms I to the room,"Like not now!"My dad just kept quiet then my mom puts a smile on as her eyes turn to me "sweetie,dinner is ready you can go downstairs,your dad and I need to have a talk, please go down and help Urma and Tyron prepare the table, please dear."Then she throws my dad a warning look that pierced through the tension in the room. As I leave the room about to walk down the stairs,I could hear that my parents are arguybut trying to keep me from hearing,I try hard to listen in then my mom throws me a look and I quickly turn and go downstairs. I could see my godparents preparing the dinner table and they both turn at the same time to ask if I'm ok but I could see through their facial expressions that they know what my parents are hiding from me,then I wandered what was the "BIG SECRET".Urma pulls a chair for me,"Raven ....how are you feeling.do you want me to get you anything to drink?"she asked with her beautiful smile .for her age she looks amazing with her perfectly white teeth."No I'm ok ,just hungry and the food smells divine." I sat and she pushed my chair in,"you always compliment my good ,I think one of these days I'll make you peanut butter and jam sandwiches and see if the compliments will keep coming,"Tyron said as he came with a cuisine trolley strolling from the kitchen through the long passage into the dinning room.Behind him appears both my parents carrying their tension into the dinning room eventhough they tried to put on. fake smiles, I saw and felt their energies."Dinner is served!"Tyron shouted and the food was delicious as it looked,no one said a word until dinner was finished. While Urma helped Tyron clear the table I slid next to my dad and asked whatwas it that he wanted to tell me before mom interrupted but he dismissed me with "not now baby girl but when the time is right you will know."Gave me kiss on my forehead...after desert I went up to my room and there was a full moon reflecting through the window,I felt so full of life, energy and powerful in a way I couldn't explain nor understand but I loved feeling this way so I laid on my bed thinking about my graduation as this was my last year at college but I didn't want to attend the ceremony but since it was compulsory I couldn't miss it. As I got deep into my thoughts.it was the more I felt sleepy but then I heard whispers from downstairs as every night since I was about five years and now I'm turning twenty one years a week before graduation. As I try hard to listen, I fell asleep as if someone just Meade me fall into a deep, beautiful and peaceful sleep.
