CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO After Waldo’s update and some back thumping, they turned serious. ‘We’re ready then?’ the female CIRT asked. Nods all round. She said, ‘Move out.’ They exited the house faster than they’d gone in. The two CIRTs sprinted to the access door that Franklin had seen pulled shut. The rest moved to the cover of their van. When the CIRTs were near the tin wall, crouched to provide smaller targets and ready to spring, Bruner called through the loudspeaker, ‘This is the police! Come out!’ The dog erupted into frenzied barking from within the shed. This time nobody stopped it. Franklin shifted his pistol in his hand for a better grip. His eyes were skewered into the front access door. The two arson Ds were covering the main door and the perimeter of the shed between them.
