Ava sat in the conference room, her eyes fixed on Ethan as he fielded questions from the audience. She raised her hand, and when the moderator called on her, she stood up, her voice clear and confident.
"Mr. Thompson, can you explain the recent allegations of environmental damage at ET Recreation's latest development project?" Ava asked, her eyes locked on Ethan's.
Ethan's smile never fell. "Those allegations are completely false and unfounded, Ms. Morales. We've conducted extensive environmental impact assessments, and our project meets all regulatory standards."
Ava's eyes narrowed. "But what about the reports of local wildlife being displaced? And the concerns raised by nearby residents about noise pollution?"
Ethan's expression turned cool. "We've taken every possible precaution to reduce the project's impact on the environment, wildlife, and local community. I'm afraid your sources are likely misinformed or biased."
Ava's pen scratched across her notebook, her eyes flashing with annoyance. She knew Ethan was dodging her questions, but she also knew she needed concrete evidence to take him down.
As the Q&A session was coming to an end, Ava approached the microphone again. "One final question, Mr. Thompson. Can you comment on the rumors of a potential merger between ET Recreation and a Dominic Recreates?"
Ethan's expression turned guarded, and for a moment, Ava thought she saw a flicker of uncertainty. "I'm afraid that's just speculation, Ms. Morales. We're always exploring opportunities for growth and expansion, but I can assure you that any potential merger would be thoroughly searched and announced publicly in due course."
Ava's eyes locked onto Ethan's, her mind racing with possibilities. She knew he was hiding something, and she was determined to find out what.
As the conference concluded, Ava approached Ethan, her notebook and pen at the ready. "Mr. Thompson, I'd love to get a quote from you on the future of business and journalism," she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
Ethan raised an eyebrow, his expression amused. "Oh, I'm sure your readers would love to hear my thoughts on the matter, Ms. Morales."
Ava smiled sweetly. "I think they'd be fascinated by your view on how businesses can manipulate the media to their advantage."
Ethan chuckled. "Well, I'm sure you're just looking for a juicy story to fit your narrative, but I'll play along. I think business and journalism should be about telling the story of change and progress, instead of sensationalism and scandal-mongering."
Ava's eyes flashed with annoyance. "That's not true. Good journalism holds businesses responsible and ensures transparency. You're just upset because I've been exposing ET Recreation's questionable practices for months now."
Ethan shrugged. "I'm just saying that journalism should be about reporting the facts, not pushing false accusations . And as for my company, we're proud of our achievements and willing to defend ourselves against false accusations."
Ava scoffed. "Facts?I call it manipulation. And as for agendas, isn't ET Recreation's goal to maximize profits at any cost?"
Ethan's expression turned cool. "My company's goal is to innovate, create jobs, and drive economic growth. And as for profits, isn't that what businesses are supposed to do?"
Their debate continued, with neither side willing to give an inch. As they spoke, Ava couldn't help but notice the way Ethan's eyes sparkled with intensity, the way his voice grew more passionate when discussing his company. And Ethan, in turn, was struck by Ava's passion, her determination to uncover the truth.
Ava sat at her desk, surrounded by stacks of papers and her laptop open to hundreds of tabs. She was researching ET Recreation, looking for any dirt she could use to expose their questionable practices.
As she scrolled through articles and reports, she stumbled upon a mention of a former employee (Ryan Dammie) who had spoken out against the company's ethics. Ava's eyes lit up as she quickly typed out a note to herself to follow up on the lead.
She spent the next few hours writing her article, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she poured out her frustrations with Ethan's company. She was determined to expose their wrongdoings and bring them to justice.
As she wrote, Ava couldn't help but think about Ethan himself. She had to admit, despite their differences, she found him intriguing. There was something about his confidence and charisma that drew her in, even as she knew she should be wary of him.
Ava shook her head, pushing the thoughts aside. She was a journalist, not a fan girl. She had a job to do, and she was going to do it.
With a final push of her keyboard, Ava finished her article and hit publish. She leaned back in her chair, a sense of satisfaction washing over her. She had done it. She had written a true expose on Ethan's company, and it was going to make big.
But as she waited for the article to go live, Ava couldn't shake the feeling that Ethan would not take kindly to her exposé. And she wondered what he would do when he found out about it.
(Ethan's POV)
Ethan sat in his office, his eyes scanning the article on his computer screen. His expression darkened as he read Ava's words, her accusations and criticisms stinging.
He couldn't believe she had gone ahead and published the article without even giving him a chance to respond. It was clear she was out to get him, to ruin his company's reputation.
Ethan's anger boiled just below the surface as he picked up the phone and dialed his PR manager's number. "Get me a statement ready," he barked. "We need to respond to this article ASAP."
As he waited for the statement to be made, Ethan's mind turned to Ava herself. He couldn't help but admire her fearlessness, her drive, even as he disagreed with her methods. She was a force to be reckoned with, and he had to admit, he found her intriguing.
But he wasn't going to let her get away with this. He was going to fight back, and he was going to make sure she regretted ever crossing him.
The PR manager walked in with a draft statement, and Ethan began to review it, his eyes narrowing as he made notes and revisions. He was going to make Ava Morales regret underestimating him.
As he finished the statement, Ethan's assistant walked in with a look of concern on her face. "Sir, Ava Morales is requesting an interview with you. She says she wants to discuss the article and get your side of the story."
Ethan's expression turned calculating. He knew exactly what he was going to do. He was going to agree to the interview, and he was going to use it to turn the tables on Ava. He was going to make her eat her words, and he was going to enjoy every minute of it.
