"Give my regards to Rhian!" Julian said with a smile after opening the gate for me. The window of my car was down, so he could see me clearly.
"I'm not going to see her."
"Where are you going?" He raised an eyebrow, watching me closely.
"My wife needs me more. Rhian can wait, but Keycee—I can’t make her wait," I said, smiling slightly as I rolled up the window. I needed to be with Keycee now more than Rhian. I felt like her text was 50/50—half true, half not. It seemed like she said it just to ease my earlier disappointment.
If she was truly okay with me going to see Rhian, why did she leave with only a text goodbye? Why didn’t she come to my room and tell me in person that she was going to her mom’s house?
