I rolled my eyes, shaking my head and sighing. "What is it this time?"
"There's this guy I've been eyeing for so long. He finally asked me out," Meredith squealed with delight, her words tumbling out with feverish excitement. "I'm going on a date with him tonight, so I'm sorry I have to cancel on us."
"Okay. It's just tonight. We can have our girl time tomorrow night," I said. "Congratulations."
"Thank you, but tomorrow night won't work either. I'm spending the whole weekend with him."
"He just asked you out," I emphasized. "Aren't you moving a little too fast?"
"Opportunity only knocks once. I'm sinking my claws into him and never letting go now that he's taken the bait," Meredith gushed, drawing out the last word and giggling excitedly.
I thinned my lips with a defeated sigh
