"When will you be visiting again?" Meredith asked as she walked me down the stairs.
Dusk was settling in when I announced it was time for me to leave.
We had become so engrossed in our conversation that we'd lost track of time. Meredith often received several calls, given her social nature.
By the time we had talked to our hearts' content, the day was nearly over.
"We shall see," I replied, descending the last step.
Meredith pulled me into a side hug when we reached the ground floor, her cheek pressed against mine.
"I'm going to miss you," she whined.
I snorted. "I doubt that. Not with all your acquaintances keeping you busy all day with calls."
