Sorrow

The scene outside was like something out of a movie. Bodies were everywhere, the metallic smell of blood filling my nostrils and the loud screaming mixed with murderous snarls rang in my ears. My blue and green eyes scanned the battlefield that was once our front yard, looking for my mom. My blood ran cold when I saw her lifeless Saber body in the jaws of a giant crocodile, her dark red blood dripping down his green scaled mouth. As I was about to run to my mother, my eyes darted to a figure that was too fast for the human eye to see but I saw who it was clearly and for a second, there was hope. That’s dad!  My hope quickly shattered as I watched the man who I thought could never lose a fight, be taken down like he was a mere rabbit, helplessly from Ezras side. Erin, who was already shifted into her dark red wolf form, ran to try and help my father but in a second she as well was taken down. Her body was writhing around on the ground, trying to free herself from the huge brown bear that had her pinned. The bear let out a sickening growl and then raised himself on his hind legs and with all his force, came down on Erins head. Her body went lifeless immediately and just like that, she was gone. I felt myself shift back into my human form, all the energy and strength I had vanished. No, no! Not now! I need to fight! My mind was battling with my body and I was frozen, unable to move or scream or cry. I was numb. Suddenly my dads scream pierced through me like someone firing a gun. I snapped back to reality and my gaze fell on him. I could feel his dark green eyes on me, pleading with me to run but how could I? How could he expect me to just leave when he needed me? I shook my head and screamed bloody murder, feeling all eyes on me. A loud roar that sent shivers down my spine, echoed from the shadows and a tall black and red T-Rex with eyes the color of coal, stepped out from the tree line. It seemed to make everyone stop in their tracks and the animals that were killing my people, ran to his side and lined up as if it was rehearsed over and over.  The 20 foot T. rex took another giant step forward and than began to shrink until he started having human like features, his minions staying in their predator forms. Ezra let out a loud, threatening growl and moved in front of me. “Stay away from her.” He declared. The man now standing where the T. rex was, was about 6’3 a little taller than my dad, and had black hair that fell to his shoulders and an ugly scar that went from his left earlobe, down his chin and disappeared under the collar of his shirt. He looked down at my dads body with his dark eyes and smirked. “I’m guessing this must be your father?” His bored tone angered me.  “Leave him alone you monster!!” I shrieked. His ugly smirk turned into a smile. “A monster? Hah! You haven’t seen anything yet.” And with that he leaned down and grabbed my father by the neck, lifting him up as if he was as light as a feather and then threw him into the awaiting jaws of the same crocodile that killed my mother. In that moment Ezra turned and grabbed me by the shirt in his jaws and threw me on his back as he took off behind the house and into the woods. I buried my face into the scruff of his neck and screamed and cried, my father and mother’s body flashing through my mind.  “Let them go. We will meet again.” The man said to his minions. “Now. Let’s welcome ourselves home.” Loud roars and howls erupted into the night, echoing in my head as Ezra and I took off into the night.
