The Samurai Part 2 Episode 2 Renjis Battle

Kenshin.

Kenshin.

Kenshin what are you doing over there?

Nothing Saya, Kenshin responds back. I, I was just thinking, lost in thought.

Oh! Lost in thought about what?? Saya asks.

THINKING ABOUT BLOOD! ABOUT ALL THE FUN WE HAD! THERE'S SO MUCH MORE FUN WE CAN HAVE STILL!!!

Kenshin shakes his head..

Hey, Saya says as she puts her arms around Kenshin. Come here. You've had a long day. Let's go inside..

Let's go inside so later YOU CAN WATCH ME DIEE!!!

Kenshin jumps up and opens his eyes.

He puts his hand over his face, he's trembling, sweating, he looks for Saya as her silhouette fades away back into the shadows.

Saya please, please don't go. Stay stay with me please. He says to his dead beloved wife as she vanishes from sight.

Renji laying by the fire watches Kenshin from a distance. He recognizes the pain and sorrow in Kenshins eyes.

It's a pain Renji knows all to well. For he to suffers from nightmares of the past and his heart hurts from the torment of losing his loved ones.

Both Renji and Kenshin blame only themselves for the deaths of there loved ones they feel guilt for being unable to protect those they held dear.

As Renji watches silently his heart opens up to Kenshin. Maybe he's not so bad after all. Maybe they have more in common then he realized.

Renji drifts off back to sleep.

The next morning Renji wakes up.

Kenshin and Touka are already up, Kenshin is preparing something to eat and Touka is well being Touka. A normal day.

Renji thinks about what he saw last night, he thinks to himself today I won't be stubborn and rude to Kenshin. Today I'm gonna try and be nice to him. Today....

All of a sudden Touka and Kenshin erupt into a huge argument over the food. Yelling screaming acting like kids. The usual....

What was I thinking? Renji thinks to himself as he puts his head down.. They're idiots, the both of them!!!

Touka stops arguing when she notices Renjis up.

Hey Renji! Come on and eat! But you better hurry before this selfish pig eats it all, Touka shouts out with a big smile while she's kicking Kenshin to get away with some of the meat she has in her mouth.

Greedy! I'm the greedy one Touka? Kenshin yells out.

He then grabs Touka and yanks her backward and pulls the meat out of her mouth with his.

He quickly swallows it.

Touka slaps him and yells out you greedy dirty pervert you just stuck your filthy tongue in my mouth. Did you see that Renji he just tried... That dirty, he just made a move on me!!

Touka turns around and kicks Kenshin in the shin.

The two start arguing while trying to eat the each others food.

Renji can't help but laugh at the two's childish behavior.

Touka notices Renji laughing so she starts laughing too. Not long after Kenshin follows suit.

The three laugh then Kenshin passes Renji the food Touka was trying to give to Renji.

Hey jerk! I was gonna give that to him, she shouts out!

Yeah right, Kenshin says back. Knowing you,

you were gonna eat it!

Renji takes the food from Kenshin. Kenshin smiles and pats him on the head.

Renji sees the sincerity in Kenshins smile. It fills his heart with a warm joy.

Th, thank you, Renji says to Kenshin.

Kenshin walks away and goes to clean up the area he cooked in.

Touka sits down by Renji and says it's good huh?

Renji replies yeah it's pretty good.

He then looks up at Kenshin making sure he's still away and busy.

Touka? What, why does Kenshin hunt Demons? Why is he so determined to hunt and kill the Demons.

Touka tells Renji everything about Kenshins hard and sad past about the bandits killing his wife because the Demons wanted to devour Kenshin because of the Uchiha blood in his veins. How he feels responsible for her death.

She also tells him about how humans used him and his clan long ago to fight the Demons and then killed all of Kenshins clan everyone except him.

Renji looks up at Kenshin, Kenshin is eating what ever left overs he runs across. Goofy as usual but that sadness in his eyes, there is always that deep sadness in Kenshins eyes.

Wow, I I had no idea, Renji tells Touka. He looks down at the ground feeling his own pain like its connecting to the pain Kenshin feels.

At night when he sleeps.. He..

Touka cuts Renji off. So you noticed that huh, she says. He is constantly haunted by his past by his lover by his pain. A tear falls from Toukas eye. He is always remembering always missing her, he's always in so much pain. But he won't, he doesn't admit to it or tell anyone.

She begins to cry more. And I, I can't help him... I can't do anything for him, I'm completely useless. I want to help him, I want to make it ok, make him ok. I wish I could make him happy. Make him forget. I want to take that sadness out of his heart. But I can't do anything.

She cries with her hands on her lap and her head down.

Renji places his hand onto hers.

You can, no we can try harder together Touka. Renji tells her.

If you ask me you are already doing it for him, maybe not all the time but Touka you do make him happy you make him forget even if it's just for a little while.

You bring joy to his life..

Touka looks up at Renji with tears pouring from her eyes.

You, you really think so? And we? We will try? She says as she sobs.

Yeah Renji says as he closes his hand onto Toukas gripping it tight. Yeah we will, I will help you bring Kenshin some form of peace. After all someone has to babysit the two of you.

Touka grabs Renji and hugs him tightly while thanking him.

Renji freaks out at first but then hugs her back and as he does an image of his sister flashes into his eyes and they begin to water.

Kenshin looks up at the two but says nothing. He just looks on and smiles. Then continues to eat whatever he comes across.

Its been some time now since Renji joined our two heroes. Though it was a rough start Renji and Kenshin for the most part have finally gotten used to each other.

Well enough to not completely hate one another. They argue more then Touka and Kenshin but honestly it's out of love.

They've finally run across telltale signs of the winged Demon that escaped.

Renji has learned alot in that time from both Kenshin and Touka and is now an exceptional Demon hunter.

They've spent there nights hunting and killing Demons honing there skills.

But neither Renji nor Kenshin has forgotten there mission, both of them looking searching for clues to exact there revenge.

Kenshin always looking for signs of The Relic, Renji always looking for anything that can get him back on that winged Demons trail.

On there last hunt Touka picked up the winged Demons scent and now they are hot on its trail again.

Renji can't contain his anger his boiling blood. He can only think of getting to the winged Demon as fast as he can. He can only think of his long awaited revenge.

Touka tells Renji calm down we have to stop and rest for the day. You are to anxious your letting your feelings cloud your thinking. Renji if you don't let go of this thirst for revenge it will get you maybe all of us hurt or killed.

Renji wants no part of what Toukas saying. He insist they need to keep going, he can't, NO he won't risk letting that damn monster getting away this time.

Touka now upset walks away. Your just a stupid kid, why do I even bother! She shouts as she walks away.

Kenshin walks over to Renji.

He puts his arm on Renji.

Renji yells out, WHAT! WHAT YOU TO KENSHIN, don't act like you aren't after your own revenge. Don't act like every single night your not searching every spot for something that leads you closer to your goals.

Kenshin grabs Renji tightly by the shoulder and shakes him.

Your right Renji. I am after my revenge. I've been down the road your heading down. It will only make you a monster just like me. But theres nothing I can say or do to stop you from walking that path. But listen to me boy, if you go into battle like this like how you are now. You will NEVER avenge your family. You will never taste that revenge you so desperately seek.

Calm your inner self. Prepare your mind and body. Let us rest and tonight we go in to battle at full strength both in body and mind.

Do that and I promise you will see your revenge.

Renji looks at Kenshin. He sees the seriousness in Kenshins eyes.

Fine! Fine, he shouts. We rest but as soon, as soon as afternoon comes we, I even if I have to go alone. I'm gonna find that thing and kill it tonight! Renji shouts as he sits down.

Touka looks at Kenshin then smiles to herself.

Kenshin sits down beside Renji and tells him good decision, I promise you I will do everything in my power to help you get to that Demon and when we do find it you will be the one to bring it down. You alone will fight this beast and reclaim your honor. I will only watch win or lose this battle is all yours. I give you my word.

Renji looks up at Kenshin, thank you he says to Kenshin. Thank you but I assure you, you will watch that Demon die by my hands tonight.

Kenshin pats Renji on the head as Touka finally comes join the two. The three take a moment to relax and prepare for the night.

Bang!

Thud!

Renjis backside hits the ground as the Demon throws him from the sky with its talons.

Renji slams his sickle into the ground as he let's his mind get consumed with anger.

Come on Renji, Touka yells out! You can do this!

The Demon looks over at Kenshin and Touka who haven't moved from the sidelines.

Once its sure the two won't jump in he begins to dive in for another attack.

Renji flips backward narrowly dodging the Demons attack.

Kenshin shakes his head in disappointment as he continues to watch.

Renji launches his weighted end of his chain up at the Demon wrapping it around the Demons leg.

Maybe not such a good idea. The Demon drags Renji up into the sky.

Come on Renji! Touka yells again, this time the frustration apparent in her voice.

Renji tries to use his ice power to freeze the Demons leg to slow it down some but the Demon is to quick it kicks the chain from its leg sending Renji straight back down.

Before Renji hits the ground the Demon swoops in and slashes Renjis back open with its talons.

NOO! Touka yells out as she begins to rush in.

But she is stopped instantly by Kenshin.

No Touka! You can't help him. This is a battle he alone must fight and no matter how hard it is, no matter how bad you want to run to his aide. You can't. Even if he's losing, even if he's gonna die you can't interfere with this fight or you will forever rob him of his honor and dignity. Yeah you might be able to jump in and save his life but even if you do you will have forever taken his honor away. So no matter what no matter how much you want to save him. This is something he has to do alone. Kenshin tells her.

Touka realizes how painful and how painfully true Kenshins cruel words are. She can only look on as Renji fights for his stolen honor.

The Demon slashes Renjis arm causing him to drop his kusarisama.

Kenshin with his arms crossed tapping his finger in his bicep looks on with growing frustration.

Boy have you learned nothing. All my teaching and training was wasted on someone like you, someone to weak to defeat a vile beast such as that thing.

Can you not reclaim your family's honor? Will you take your revenge for what that monster did to you and your family?

Need I step in and do it for you?

Your to weak, allow me to slay this beast in your place! Kenshin shouts out angrily at Renji.

Renji grabs his kusarisama and shouts, NOO! THIS IS MY FIGHT! MINE ALONE!

With a renewed sense of determination in his eyes Renji throws his blood off of his arm onto the chain of his kusarisama and begins spinning the sickle over his head.

Frozen Blood Rain! He yells out.

The chain sends his blood flying up into the sky over the hovering Demon.

The ice power in Renjis Demon blood causes the blood to freeze and rain back down in frozen spikes hitting the Demon knocking it from the sky.

As the Demon falls Renji throws his sickle.

Ice Breaker!

Renji calls out his attack as the sickle cuts through the Demon cutting it in half and as its body separates the blood freezes into a block of ice holding the two halves together. He pulls the sickle back causing it to break the ice shattering the Demon.

Renji falls to one knee and his icy blue eyes turn back brown.

Tears roll out of his eyes and he tells his sister, Sis I did it, I avenged you and mom and dad! I did it sis.

He begins to collapse. Touka rushes in and catches him.

You did good kid she says. Your sister would be proud, you did good now rest easy.

Kenshin walks over and says give him to me, come on Touka were done for the night. It took you a while but you did good boy, Kenshin says with a smile as Touka hands the now unconscious Renji over to him.

Tomoe, Tomoe slayed the tiger!!

The villagers yell out, Tomoe killed the man eating beast! Tomoe is a hero to the village. She killed the tiger! Renji rushes down to his older sister he feels so happy and proud to be the young brother of his amazing sister. She is a prodigy to her clan a clan of well known and sought out ninja.

Tomoe looks down at her little brother and smiles.

Renji opens his eyes. He feels a tear in one of them. He wipes it away. It was just a dream. Maybe she was visiting me to thank me for getting revenge on that damned Demon.

He looks over and sees Tomoe.

No its Touka, she reminds him so much of Tomoe. Is it because shes also a ninja.

Touka passes by doing her own thing. Whatever that maybe. Sometimes its sharpening her ninja tools. Other times its prettying herself.

And then theres this mischief. Always looking for a way to mess with Kenshin. Always picking a fight.

Touka sees an opportunity while Kenshin is busy day dreaming like the i***t she and Renji thinks he is.

She uses her Demon power to catch Kenshins pant leg on fire. Then runs off to hide while giggling to herself.

Then again Renji thinks to himself my sister was way, WAY more mature then the stupid girl always getting her kicks messing with the even stupider buffoon they call Kenshin.

All of a sudden Kenshin jumps up screaming, I'M ON FIRE AAAGHHHH!!! SOMEBODY QUICK HELP PUT IT OUT! I'M!!

Kenshin pours some water from his water bottle onto his pant leg putting the fire out.

Touka can't contain herself anymore and begins to laugh hysterically outloud.

Kenshin looks at her realizing it was her doing.

Why you little BRAT! He shouts!!

He begins yelling and giving chase. Once again the two are fighting like children.

Here we go again Renji says to himself as he shakes his head looking down. But then he let's out a grin. He enjoys the entertainment.

He looks to the sky and says well Tomoe I finally killed that beast. I hope you and everyone can rest in peace now.

Kenshin, hey Kenshin.

Guess what today is! Saya runs to Kenshins side while asking with a that big beautiful smile.

Clank! SCCHHHHH!

Kenshin sheaths his katana back into his scabbard.

Um! Its Wednesday day. He replies.

Saya looks down and frowns.

Oh! Kenshin says.

Saya looks up and smiles again.

That's right Kenshin says its Thursday!

Saya puts her head back down and thinks to herself. Of course he wouldn't remember, I'm not as important as his....

She looks up and Kenshin is handing her the prettiest flowers she has ever seen.

What? What are these? Why? Saya ask puzzeled.

Why? Kenshin replies. Well because it's been a year since the first day we met at the Ramen shop. It's our anniversary or you didn't remember.

Kenshins face quickly grows red with embarrassment. Um I, I just saw them so I got them no particular reason. It's not like I keep up with...

Saya grabs Kenshin by the neck and starts kissing him all over his face.

You did remember Kenshin! You remembered it was our anniversary! Oh Kenny I love you so much. Saya shouts as she continues kissing Kenshin.

Saya looks up in the distance and sees a man walking selling flowers.

She instantly stops kissing Kenshin and pops him on the head!

You big jerk she says! You did just happen to run into someone selling them. She starts slapping Kenshin with the flowers.

Kenshin grabs her hand. Saya he delivers them honest, he came because I asked him to yesterday when I saw him at the market.

How often do you see a man walking selling flowers. He ask her.

Saya stops and thinks about it.

Oh she says and she stops hitting him then giggles I'm so sorry Kenny.

She looks down at the now broken flowers and begins to cry.

Kenshin suddenly pulls out another bouquet.

He hands them to her and says something told me to get an extra one sooo.

Saya looks up and smiles. Happy one year anniversary Kenny! She shouts out.

Why didn't you bring me flowers for my one year anniversary of being DEAD!!

Kenshin opens his eyes.

He puts his hand on his face, he hears commotion. Someone trying to be quite.

A bandit or a thief.

He jumps up with his sword.

He sees Renji.

Renji has all of his things and he's beginning to walk off.

Kenshin looks and sees Touka is still fast asleep.

So!

So your just gonna run off without telling her bye?

You know how much she cares about you your like the little brother she never had.

And your just gonna disappear without saying a word making her sad and worried. Kenshin says as he walks over to the leaving Renji.

Renji turns around surprised that he has been caught.

There, theres no place for me here. I'd, I'll just be in y'alls way.Renji says to Kenshin with his head down.

Well I can't argue with you there. You are a nuisance and in the way alot and you almost eat as much as Touka does which means cooking for you two will be a pain. Kenshin says.

Renji quickly turns and starts walking away faster.

Kenshin continues to speak. But your also strong and you make Touka happy and smile which is something I can't do.

And with a little more training you can be one of the best Demon hunters that ever walked the earth.

We, no I could use that help. Why go? Theres no where left to go? Why be alone when you don't have to be alone?

I know we have had or differences but Touka. No I, I will be very happy if you would stay with us. I can train you teach you how to use that power you posses.

Won't you stay with us even if it's just for a little longer Renji?

Renji stops instantly. He has never heard Kenshin talk like this. His eyes begin to tear up and he drops his bags. He begins to cry.

Kenshin walks over to him and puts his hand down onto his shoulder. You have a home a family with us with me and Touka as long as you want it Renji. Kenshin says while patting Renji on the back.

Renji grabs Kenshin and sobs. Kenshin hesitant at first grabs him back.

Renji says, I'll stay, I'll stay with y'all a little while longer.

Thank you Kenshin says, now come on I'll cook us something to eat.

Touka who was watching with them noticing smiles with tears running from her eyes. She feels so happy for both Renji and Kenshin and she feels so happy for herself. She has finally found herself a real family.

The gang has finished eating now all doing there own separate thing.

Touka sitting under a tree messing with her ninja weapons like she always does.

Kenshin off in the distance sees an opening.

He gets himself out of sight and unsheathes his sword creating a wind blade.

The blade quietly cuts the branch over Toukas head leaving it hanging on by a thread.

Renji notices but says nothing instead he will just watch see how it plays out. A giant smile forms on his face in anticipation.

Touka jumps and and starts to fluff her pretty hair.

Thud!!

The branch falls on her knocking her into the dirt after she just spent all that time making herself look nice.

Renji burts into laughter.

Touka jumps up angrily while shouting at the branch.

She looks over and gives Renji a glare shutting him up instantly.

Stupid tree! Stupid branch! She says as she kicks it.

When she kicks it she hurts her toe and as she bends down to grab her hurt toe she notices the end of the branch.

What! It doesn't look like it's dead or like it cracked!

It looks like it was!!!!

KENSHINNNN!!!! She shouts out angrily.

Kenshins head rises up from behind the bush he was using for cover.

Ugh oh! Covers blown! Time to move he says to himself as he gets up and starts to run!!

And once again a skirmish breaks out and the two begin chasing and fighting one another.

Renji laughs at the site until Touka gives him that glare again then he quickly turns away and plays busy.

Kenshin yells out as Touka throws her fire daggers at Kenshin chasing him.

Another typical day. The hard life of Demon Hunters.

Renji and the others form a strong bond as he becomes another loved member of the time.

But in a not so far away village a Demon reeks havoc on the towns people.

Soon another mission will call our heroes into action.

Soon they will be in another life and death battle, putting there lives on the line to stop the Demons from there evil ambitions.

In a not so distant village a shadow lurks.

It has the village consumed in fear.

Come on, hurry get in here. A woman quietly tells her two young boys as she stuffs them into the closet.

SSHHHH! Stay in here and no matter what you here don't make a sound and don't open this door! You understand?

She pats her boys on the head and forces herself to smile a fake smile.

I'll be back she says. Everything will be alright.

She quietly closes the door.

Theres racket noises all around. She can't make out where there coming from or what is making them.

She continues to walk through the little house she calls home.

THUD!

Something behind her makes a sound. She turns to look but all becomes silent again.

She is so afraid more afraid then she has ever felt.

Something is coming.

She turns back in front of her and freezes.

A huge animal a bear maybe walks into sight toward her with its head down. It's really big and it stinks. It stinks really bad.

Gulp!

She swallows.

The animal then raises its head.

She becomes petrified frozen in fear.

Though it has fur and a bulky body like a bear. Its face looks like a person's, like a disfigured human face.

Its eerie green eyes glow in the dark and from its abnormally large drooling mouth it forms a hideous grin exposing its razor sharp teeth.

The woman turns to run and as she begins to the fur on the beast seems to grow shooting out foward like a spear.

It pierces through her.

She coughs out blood and looks down at the fur protruding through her abdomen.

She grabs it then looks up.

The beast is now towering over her looking down with that horrible smile.

Its hideous face that seems like it has been stretched and torn to fit it's now bigger size looking down at her makes her so afraid she forgets the pain.

Its mouth opens it tears and rips as it opens wider and then it bites the woman in half.

The two boys listen on to the noise.

They are frightened and crying.

The noise gets louder then it stops.

They hold each other while trying to quite one another.

Its quite.

They begin to look around.

Suddenly theres a noise right there in the room just outside the door.

They grab each other tight and put there heads down in attempt to hide.

The door begins to slide open slowly.

Mommy one of them says as he looks up into the open door.

Terror grabs ahold of the two boys as they look up at the smiling monstrous face glaring at the two of them.

The boys scream out and the beast lunges foward.

The monster rips the boys into pieces. As the screams fade away its replaced by the blood that rains from the sky.

The monster finishes its meal and makes it's way back out the house.

Everything goes silent.

Kenshin looks up as he sniffs into the air.

I smell blood and alot of it! He says.

Touka jumps down from the tree she was in.

Kenshin she shouts out. Do you smell that? I can smell sulfur.

And fresh blood Renji shouts as he rushes to the others side.

Theres a Demon up ahead. A nasty one. Its time to go to work guys. Kenshin shouts as the three begin to run in the direction the smell of blood is coming from.

Renji smiles and grips his kusarisama.

His Demon blood cries out for battle. Its hungry for blood.

He excitedly rushes foward. His thirst for battle overwhelming him.

Slow down! Touka shouts out.

But it's no use Renji has almost lost his ability to think clearly.

The only thing he wants right now is the chance to battle the chance to kill.

The three rush to the village.

It's quite but Kenshin can sense that there are still people here.

That's a good sign we're not to late he think to himself.

Touka heads down to try to talk to some of the people.

Kenshin rushes over to where the scent of blood is coming from.

And Renji quickly follows the scent of sulfur.

He only wants one thing he wants to fight. His blood cries out for battle. Its overwhelming him taking over.

Touka talks to a few of the villagers when she is finally able to get someone to come out.

She learns about the monster that has been coming down from the forest to prey on the townsfolk at night.

She knows it's no bear or other animal and after she gets all the information she needs to rushes over to Kenshin.

Kenshin buries the remaining body parts of the children and woman.

Just as he finishes Touka comes down and tells him about everything she heard.

The two talk about there next move.

Wait! Where is Renji? Touka ask Kenshin.

I thought he went with you. Kenshin replies.

Crap the two of them say at the same time. He went after the Demon.

Renji can smell the scent of sulfur getting stronger.

He's out on the Demons trail.

He picks up the pace in his excitement.

A smile forms from ear to ear as his blood begins to boil.

Finally a chance to fight! Finally the chance to kill another Demon! He shouts out.

FINALLY A CHANCE TO MAKE BLOOD POUR OUT FROM THE SKY!!!!!
