Chapter 25I wished Nola had been here. She could have consoled me. She’d know exactly what to say and what not to say, but Nola wasn’t here. She was down in Denver, probably sleeping. She’d have understood my relationship with James and withheld judgment for it. At the very least, she’d have sat at the edge of my vision and lent mute support.
