Ariana's POV
I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was the ceiling. I shifted my gaze to the side and realised I was alone in bed. I dragged myself into a sitting position, rubbing my eyes. While rubbing my eyes, I recalled the events of the previous night. My attempted escape, the huge beast that caught me mid-air, Damien's confession, the passionate kisses, and finally sleeping in Damien's arms.
My eyes scanned the entire room for anything that would prove Damien was here or that he was still around, but I found nothing. My eyes fell on a covered tray sitting on the table.
Surprisingly, I felt better and stronger. I looked down at myself, and I was still in the patient gown with my back exposed. I reached for my back and I didn't feel any pain, like before.
