Chapter 10: Going to Royal City

1356 Words
Ariana's POV I sat there with my hands tied and tears streaming down my face. I knew I was being taken to the slaughterhouse. I looked out the tainted window, knowing this was going to be my last view of Pearl City and also the world. Heavenly Father, forgive me for all wrong and receive my soul as I come to you. Please give me a place where I will be happy. I prayed in my mind and shifted my gaze to my belly. My tears streamed down my face and fell like droplets into my morning coat. I was still in my sleepwear and only covered up by my morning coat. I said another prayer in my mind for the child growing inside of me. Lord, receive my little one, too. I am sorry, little one. Mummy is going to die in a couple of minutes. Forgive me for my inability to protect you. I said in my mind. The car was soon in motion, and every minute felt like the last I was seeing. We arrived at the airport, and Michael got out of the car, dragging me along. He untied my hand and quickly pressed my face against the side of the car. He moved my hands to my back and tied them behind me. "This is better," he said and held me by the elbow. He started dragging me towards the airport. It was at this moment that I saw Alpha Roland and his beta, Chris, walking towards us. I didn't know they had also come to the airport with us. Michael removed the tape from my lips, but my hands remained tied behind me. "Let's go off me," I said, my voice very strong, even though my eyes were still soaked with tears. I gripped the ground with my foot to make it difficult for him to drag me into the airport. I was going to die soon anyway. There was no point in looking pitiful. Michael ignored me and continued to drag me effortlessly towards the airport like I was a piece of paper. Alpha Roland went ahead of us, and I saw him speaking with one of the airport officials. By the time Michael and I got there, Alpha Roland and his beta, Chris, were following the airport official in a specific direction. Michael dragged me in that direction, following Alpha Roland and his beta, Chris. "Let go of me," I repeated, trying to be difficult. It was my first time coming to the airport. I had never been there, even though I had lived all my life in Pearl City. "One more word from you and I will tape your mouth and your nose together," Michael said, without stopping. Hmm, taping my nose and mouth together. I don't want that. This day will be marked in history as my worst day. And it is ending with my death. My wedding day turned into my saddest day. My fiancé married my best friend. I am pregnant and don't even know how I got pregnant, and I also do not know who the father is. My landlord wanted me out, and now I have been summoned to my death by Alpha Damien. We soon entered a room with a glass wall. From the room, I could see the huge tarmac. Some planes were taking off and others were landing. For a couple of minutes, I was mesmerised by the scene, forgetting I was going to die soon at the hands of Alpha Damien. "You might wanna cuff that one. I have seen her in action before. She beat up a man around the restaurant where she works senseless," I heard Alpha Roland say, snapping me out of my moment and bringing my mind back to the inevitable awaiting me. Wait, did he say he saw me beat a man senseless? Does it mean he was there three weeks ago? I thought. Was he the one who hit my head? I thought. Did he do something to me? I continued to think, staring at him, but I shook my head. No, he is a wolf. Humans can't get pregnant by the seed of a wolf. I thought, but if he saw me beat the man, he might as well know what happened that night. I thought and wanted to ask, but restrained myself seeing Michael, and recalling my hands were tied up. I saw Beta Chris offer Michael a handcuff following Alpha Roland's statement. I stared at Michael staring at the handcuff in Beta Chris's hand, and I could tell from the body language and the sudden change in the atmosphere that they were no friends. Michael sneered. "I have my wolf now," Michael said, sounding like he was informing Alpha Roland rather than reminding him about it. "So no need for this. She is human, and I am a wolf. I am sure I can handle a stubborn little human," he said, rejecting the handcuff. "Anyway, thank you for your assistance. I will deliver your message to Alpha Damien. The Quarterly Alpha meeting comes off soon. I will do well to communicate location and time once Alpha Damien decides," Michael said, still holding me by my arms, not at all affected by my little struggle to free myself. He was like a wall. "Hmm," I heard Alpha Roland say. Michael dragged me towards the exit, and soon we were out of the glass room. It was just me and Michael now. I figured the two men who had dragged me from my apartment into the car were Alpha Roland's men. And the car also belongs to him. Michael continued to drag me by my arms. I saw a helicopter a distance away from us, and figured we were going by the helicopter, judging by the direction we were heading. We got to the helicopter, and Michael put me in the helicopter. He untied my hands and secured me in the seat with the seat belt. He sat down next to me and buckled his seat belt. "If you don't want me to push you out of this helicopter when we are airborne, behave yourself," Michael warned. Michael was very handsome with green eyes, but he was very angry. I didn't understand his threat. They are going to kill me anyway, so why threaten me with death? I thought, but remained silent. "Let's go," Michael said to the pilot, and soon, the helicopter was airborne. It was my first time flying. The feeling was weird. Out of fear, I grabbed Michael's hand while staring out the window on my side. My whole body was trembling, and I became very tense. "First time flying?" I heard Michael's voice travelled to my ears. I don't know whether it was my ears deceiving me or my fears got the better of me, but Michael sounded very calm and welcoming this time. I shifted my gaze to him to be sure he was the same person who had dragged me from my home. It was at this moment that I realised what I had done to his hand. I had bruised his hand with my nails. I was shocked he was calm. "I am sorry," I quickly apologised, releasing his hand from my grip immediately. He started healing right before me, and soon, his hand was back to normal like nothing had happened. My eyes widened as I continued to stare at his completely healed hand. "Never seen a wolf heal before?" Michael asked, staring at me, and I shook my head. "It's normal," he said, moving his gaze away from me. After that, it was a silent flight to Royal City. I was awake all through the 45-minute flight. My fears of what awaited me increased by the minute. We soon arrived at Royal City, and Michael dragged me out of the helicopter towards a parked black SUV. My heart started racing faster than before in my chest. My vision became blurry, and next was the feeling of cold air blowing around me. After that feeling, I could not feel or hear anything again.
