We passed my father and Silen in a blur, so fast in fact, that I didn’t even have so much as a moment to fully take in the sight of them, of their reaction to the fact that I was being dragged down a hallway by no one other than Dae. I was expecting to hear my father calling my name, or anything similar to that, but there was nothing. I was greeted with radio silence for the entirely of the time that it took for us to get to a different room, one where we would have the privacy that the council wished for us to have.
