It took me all of two minutes to realise that the reason why she wasn’t responding, was because she was asleep. I had to admit that it was something that I hadn’t been expecting, purely because I had thought the the reason for her closed eyes had simply been that she did not want to look at me.
It was not something that I was upset about, but it was even less so now that I knew that the reason for it was that she had been too tired to keep them open. I had to admit that it did make me feel significantly better.
I couldn’t help but acknowledge that she looked beautiful in the light that was coming in through the windows. After all these years, she had only grown more beautiful. And what made the situation even more mind boggling, was the fact that she didn’t even know it.
