POV: Aria "He slept in the office again." Rosa set down my breakfast plate and said it like she was commenting on the weather. Unremarkable. Casual. Just a fact of life in the penthouse. I looked up from my eggs. "Again?" "Third time this week." She refilled my coffee cup. "The guards say he doesn't come out until morning. Works all night. Sometimes they hear him on the phone and sometimes just silence." She walked back to the stove, humming. I filed the information away. Three nights he'd chosen his office over his bedroom. Over sleep, probably. Over whatever passed for rest in his world. I thought about the dark circles I'd noticed under his eyes at breakfast yesterday. The way his jaw had been tighter than usual. The way he'd looked at his phone like it was delivering bad news one
