As I brought it to my lips, I admired how the green sugar jewel glinted in the warm spring sunlight. It was as radiant as any emerald. Pete pointed out the plumes of smoke and my heart stopped. Instead of leaving the park at my urging, he grabbed my wrist and led me toward the source.
