Mason
Being present here feels so complex. I have no control over them, I don't know where to flow to. Oliver does though, a nonstop argument but the biggest thing is.. we can't follow through. There's no f*****g chance.
Taking my Beta title on top of everything has gotten me where I am now. Following through to what I must do and nothing else is a f*****g must.
I've tried my best early on to avoid this torment, alpha called and demanded me. Resisting was not an option so I sucked it up.
Today felt different than most days and I assume it may be because Travis has another sick act to perform on say prisoner.
"It's hurting us to do it ourselves. Seeing is one thing."
"I told you, Oliver, don't expect anything to come from it. Just do the job like it's our job because it is."
His whines faded into growls. I shut him out as he can't wrap himself over the truth.
It won't happen. Shut it all down.
Opening the cell door the scent shoved itself down my nose, applewood coated and again I shut it all down.
Unchaining the prisoner from his walls, I slightly touch his palm when I only meant to hold the chains back.
Ignore every spark, ignore any mistakes. You're a Beta and he's our enemy.
Standing to his feet, he didn't move when I notch him to at first. I try again and his head slip back, making the sweat on him fall. "How long have I been here? It feels like months. Has the season change since my time..Beta?"
His little pause had my chest tightening in, it wasn't the first time he called me Beta, but this time he seems different.
I step up after closing his chains together. Being close was all I can give and when I stand before him he looks up to me. I couldn't handle our eyes meeting, they dropped down.
"Fall is near an end." All I was capable to say before gripping his rugged shirt and pulling him out.
I'm met with Deltas who walk behind me. Leading to the heavy door, a warrior stands as he opens it. Walking in the white room is haunting to someone like him. For him, he should be use of it by now. He has been here inflecting pain and more for weeks now.
Unable to keep this close hold, The warrior was instructed to chain the prisoner to the walls along with extra chains.
Keeping my space, I waited in distance until Alpha arrived with others. He was pleased to see his toy chain up and ready to be cut into.
Not once during Travis's performance did the wolf prisoner try to find my eyes. At times before I would feel him trying, so why now of all days was I the one pulling to connect our eyes?
Every s***h made, I hush the sounds. Fighting every hidden instinct inside and just melt my feet and watch. And watch I did.
I watch him bleed again and again. He was exquisite. Took everything we did to him too f*****g good. The ache to clean and lick his wound flood in my head. The only way it can be. My head.
I stand by Gamma whom wiggles to every act. She wasn't permitted near the prisoner, after reason. So watching at a far was as close as she can get.
His screams will forever live in my mind, late at night I swear I hear them. Listening close enough it's like he calls to me but I have to ignore.
It's my duty to ignore everything that has to relate to him. Everything.
The crowd of warriors cheered. Making bets to see who can bleed him out more. It was a sick game but it passed the time. Especially since..mm..since Cullen won't talk. He won't reveal anything to us. And he knew what happens if he doesn't.
"All right, all right." Travis clapped for everyone to settle down. "One last hit and then he will have rest before attending his usual haze." Everyone booed.
My body tense up when I heard Travis lean over to Cullen's ear, he didn't whisper, no, he wanted everyone to witness his reaction to what he was about to say.
"Or maybe this is your last day. And your wish to meet Moon Goddess has finally came. Smile." He taunted.
Travis fixed Cullen’s chains, making him kneel fully to the ground, his head rested down but as the chain over his neck pulls I see thick blue veins poking out.
The shut down was crashing. The crowd was muttering words and I can no longer hear a damn thing. Not ever from Travis.
Travis held a deadly weapon, without looking at it the sound itself banging on the walls will make anyone believe their death is here.
It felt like mine was. At least the connection, the bond was telling me that.
Travis mutter words and as cocky as he seems he swung his arm up, ready to bash it down. Counting down had my nerves flying crazy.
This isn't my feeling, I can't be afraid. No, no. It's him. It's coming from him. He's pulling to me. He’s calling and I-I don't know if I can save him. I shouldn't even think of doing it. I can't.
Tunnel vision was my escaped until the most unexpected words echoed off the walls.
Cullen found the strength to hold his head up, meeting my eyes he shouted with blood drooling out his mouth, "Don't do this! Don't let him kill me! I'm your mate damn it! Don't!"
The room went silent.
A bomb just went off and all that was heard was nothing.
"Mate."
I can feel him and every single eye on me. I froze, cage of unbelief rosed. Leaving his eyes I looked to Alpha who wasn't happy to hear what he heard. He stared at me long enough to await for me to respond but when I didn't he throw his weapon to the ground.
"Everyone leave. Now!"
Shit! s**t! s**t! s**t!
Leaving his post he deathly walked to where Gamma and I were. My body caved inside.
"You wanna f*****g explain?"
Nothing.
"Is he lying, Beta?" Gamma lower her voice while Travis's wasn't close to hers.
I shook my head. Feeling ashamed. "Ah. For f**k sake. That's it."
His words held truth and him striving to Cullen actived something in me. Travis gripped his throat, extending his claw he was ready to just kill him. To end this problem.
As a good Beta I'll stand back and not argue with my Alpha. He knew best. This is not how it went though.
"No! Stop!" I yelled when the smell of Cullen's blood freshly seeped out from where Travis held his claw at.
"Ah, don't you f**k with me, Beta. Are you serious right now."
Again I couldn't respond. Piss as he could be he throw Cullen down and I push the need to run to him. Gamma held my arm and I had no clue I took a step like that was what I was about to do.
Was I about to run to him?
"This is over. You can leave and I'll finish it."
"No." I respond.
"Beta, it may be best for you to not witness this." Gamma cooed. Which is odd, I guess pregnancy had her motherly side coming out.
"Alpha? Don't do it." I held a plead voice.
"Don't tell me you seriously think it can work with him. After everything his people did."
"I don't know."
"Well then, let me make it clear." He tries again to end Cullen. But I found myself holding Travis back. He growl viciously at me. And I guess I did too.
Gamma pushed us both back. "We don't have to do this now. We can take some time. Beta will come around. It's not hard, right?" She asked me.
Somehow I couldn’t answer that.
"It's the easiest f*****g thing. Don't be stupid." Travis instructed.
Hearing that I felt so conflicted. But couldn't not say nothing. "It's not easy." They both gave me the same look. "For Goddess sake you both were in my position once and now look where you are with your mates. So no, it's not f*****g easy. It hasn't been easy since that meeting with the Phoenix Sons. But I'll figure it out."
"Then time will see. He's allow that, correct, Alpha?" Gamma asked Travis who was ready to kill. It was there in his eyes. One I have seen for years.
"This is far from either of us. This is different."
"No it's not."
"f*****g put him away, Beta." That was the last thing Travis said before storming out the room.
"Beta." Gamma pat my shoulder, I couldn't look at her to see if she was happy, mad, or concern for me. It was all just too much.
Shit! s**t! s**t!
Taking in the air I attend to my duty. Unchained Cullen who no longer tried to speak. Neither did.
Now I caved and let my hands touch his skin freely, I capture the sound of him enjoying my touch over him. With a notch from Oliver I had Cullen pulled into me. Not a touch but near his nape I sniffed the applewood scent from him.
Shit, I'm hard.
Not wasting anytime I continue to walk him back to his cell. Not a word, nor a stolen need was met. I locked him up and left.
I need to talk to Liv. I need one of my sisters.

Travis
After Beta’s whole bullshit, I advise him to call the day. He wants to be all in his emotions over some mutt. He can go do it in his room, alone.
I can not even wrap my head around how long he kept this from me. In other point, I can see why. Look where that mutt came from, pathetic, trash. He can't be f*****g serious. Cut him lose and bleed him out. Let the maggots eat him and we can go on with all our f*****g lives.
Mason is better off. And he'll f*****g see it when he stops his whining.
"Alpha? Alpha?"
Trying to distract my mind from earlier, I head to my meeting. Had to inform a few higher Deltas of some new things.
"Yeah. Go over the outter walls. Make sure we don't have scouts lurking around. It's starting to get really musky out there."
Continuing I start to hear noise out the door. It's my wife, and Mason's sister.
"Bet, he told her."
"Well, she gonna have wait later. I'm busy."
Malcolm laughs at me. "Okay. Nice try."
Elizabeth has been trying to reach us through the link. I shut it off after telling her I'm busy. I felt her frustration right away but ignore it.
Took her no time to come find me. My secretary tried to clam her down, but advising her to wait at her state was a no.
She storms right in. Locking eyes right at me. I kept my eyes off her and continue the meeting.
All the Deltas greeted her and she waved them off. Reaching me she raised her hand and smacks me on the side of the head.
"Elizabeth." I warn her with as much gentleness as I could.
"No!" Smack. "Idiotic!" Smack. "Stupid wolf!" Smack.
I see her rising for another and I stood quickly to my feet. Gripping her hand before she takes another blow at me. Warning hues locked heavy for the same reason. Yet, it was different.
"Dismiss, everyone!" The words came out in a pant.
When the footsteps have left and the door closed, I dropped my release from her.
"Your sister wolf cried to you did he?" I mock her one tantrum.
Her cute little foot stomp. "How could you do that to him. They're mates."
"Not officially."
Elizabeth gasp and I take my seat.
"You will give that boy a chance, and we will not have a say in it. It's Mason, Travis."
My eyes roll to the side to her as did my chair. "That's my point. The boy will dead soon and Mason can find literally anyone better. Just not him."
"What you are saying is the same way others thought about us."
"No!" I shouted. "It's far from that. And I won't let Mason ruin his or our lives over some mutt who isn't worth it. He will get over it. Let it be, Elizabeth."
She took her shot as I looked away, smacking me with full force on the back of the head, my neck felt an ache.
"Ha, she used her vampire strength."
Pushing my chair to the wall I caged my wife who didn't so much as f*****g flinch. "Let it f*****g be. It's a waste of time."
"You will not deprive your best friend from finding love."
"It's not love! The kid will never summit on our ground even if he is Mason's mate!" I yelled to her but not once did that seep into her stubborn brain.
"And how many times as people said that about us. A lie, betrayal, discrimination, trickery, and many more vile things even now."
I bite my tongue so hard. "f**k everyone. Nothing existed until you but that.." suggesting Mason's bullshit. "It's not gonna happen."
She played a wicked grin and tried to soothe her hands over my chest. I held her movements. "Elizabeth." I called out. Wishing she understands the true take of this.
"He will never forgive us for it. I wouldn't either." Her f*****g empathy, god damn it.
Her hands tugged in my shirt as the rumbling of my growl set.
"Let them try. Maybe it’ll work out or maybe it won't. But we can't make that call."
"It's not an easy thing you're asking. I won't have our enemy walking freely. He wasn't just a nobody to the Phoenix Sons."
She used her damn charms on me. I couldn't deny it if I tried.
"Then we won't. I thought it out, Sweet Wolf."
My head titled in wonders. She went on to explain this idea she had. Siting down on my lap we made a compromise. And the main consequence will be.
Once I had gave in to my witch, we headed down to grab the mutt in speaking. We unchain him after Elizabeth demanded she gets him food and water. I watch as she tried feeding him like a baby.
"All right, let's go."
She jumped in excitement. Rolling my eyes I nudge the wolf to walk.
"Where am I going? Are you gonna kill me? Is there a crowd to watch?" The damn mutt never stopped talking the whole walk.
Meeting at another floor and a long trail hallway, we met by a door. His mutt eyes questioned everything. He stared at Elizabeth for an answer.
"It's fine, Cullen. You'll be okay." She said it with a promise. One I wish she didn't seal.
Once we open the door. A few sets of eyes met us. I can hear the mutts heart race but I'm sure his mind was screaming.
As the silence killed us all. I slam the door behind Milow who has been walking with us the whole time.
"Let's start this shit." I demanded.
I grabbed a chair and slammed it down. Ordering the mutt to sit. Clearly he was scared. He looked to Mason then Elizabeth.
"You can sit. I'll explain."
He listen and took a seat. Mason stood just at the wall in front of him. He damn near looked like he might s**t an egg.
"Is this a new torturing method?" He asked.
The girls laugh. Milow stood by his mate who went on to fix some seals over the room. While Elizabeth will start hers.
"This is your room. You will be staying here for now."
"Temporary." I added.
"On the news of you and Mason." She pointed and Mason f*****g hid a tint of blush. Was he f*****g blushing! "You will be given a chance. But there's more to it than just your bond." She says.
"And if you don't want it, I'll kill you now." I added again. Elizabeth slice my eyes from her gaze and I didn't care one damn.
This was pointless. It won’t work. He’ll betray us. Mason will see that quick, kill the mutt in his sleep himself even. Why the hell does my wife have to involve in such a useless task.
It’s annoying as it pisses me off.
"You can't leave this room without permission nor a guard. The room is sealed from others besides us in the room. So you are safe."
"No one will try to kill me in my sleep? Am I even allowed outside?" The mutt asked her.
She nods, leering a heavy sigh out. "Having you stay here means you will have to depress your wolf for sometime." His eyes didn't widen and I'm guess over his time here his wolf went silent already. "And upon others things I have to set a magic boundary. It will hurt and I'll have to do it every 12 hours. The boundary is also a percussion. I'm sure you understand."
"I do." He takes one look at Mason and looks to Elizabeth. "I'm fine by it. Go ahead, Luna."
"She wasn't asking. You get zap if you're staying here otherwise it's lights out." I tell him.
"I completely understand, Alpha. I'll comply with your demands."
Oh, did I snap. "Get one thing straight. I am not and will not ever be your f*****g Alpha. Don't think of this as a gift. Now shut up."
The mutt did as he was told. Elizabeth ask if he was ready. He replied, she laid both her hands on the side of his skull. And the most precious pain came from him.
A minute later she was done. The mutt panted. And I gripped my wife to my side.
"I pray the day you f**k up." I admitted.
With that said. We all left the room. Mason being the first to leave.

Mason
I couldn't. I just couldn't stay there. All the eyes on me. His eyes on me. It was too much. It was like I was breaking one of my oaths.
I needed to leave. I had to get some space.
Running into the woods. Oliver ran for hours. Falling down until his paws were bleeding.
"We will have to comfort him at some point. Liv went a lot to give us this chance. Let's see him."
"Walking in there with him and I...we'll be alone. It's.. fuck."
My mind is soaring. I had to go talk to someone. I needed to hear that seeing him was okay and not some test of my loyalty of everything.
"Liv should still be awake."
Panicking so much inside, I just turn the knob. Entering I can see Liv reading a book while Travis lays on her, asleep. I froze.
Liv smiled."Just come on in. He's asleep."
Walking softly I take a seat on the bed. Liv puts her book down. Seeing my worries.
"What the hell am I suppose to do?"
“You do what we all do.” Like it’s that simple.
Snapping my head to her, my eyes narrowed. “And what on Goddess name does that mean?”
She laughs. Like really f*****g laughed at me. “Great. I’m happy you find this funny. It’s not like we can hold hands and go on public dates. You literally bonded him to an isolated room.”
Finally she held her laugh. “One you can enter and go as you will.”
Again I narrow but this time my voice hit. “Serious. What the hell are we meant to do? A kiss won’t tell me s**t. Going into that room alone is just..” One pause and I narrow my eyes as she’s about to laugh again. “What can I do to know if this is what we are suppose to do, Liv?”
Dear sister smirks and as she’s about to answer, Travis spoke as he snuggles up against his mate. "Go suck each other off. I don't care right now. Let me sleep." He grunted.
"It's hard. I'm pulled to him but it feels..I don't know." I admitted.
"Cullen is smart and this is one the both of you are on shave to follow your hearts and find out." Liv says like again this is simple.
Damn. Was it like this for them?
"Hearts. They're just listen to their d***s and after a few c*m splashes that ‘umm..I don’t know’ crap will be gone. And he will be gone."
Liv slaps him with the book. "If you're not gonna be helpful to your best friend then muzzle it."
Travis glares up. "He's a problem. Don't add on, Elizabeth." She frowns. "I'm serious. Let the two c**k suckers f**k and that's it."
"Okay, stop it. We spoke and neither of us are getting involve."
Such a heavy guilt weighed on me. "Sorry if my mating is causing a headache. Travis is right. It's wrong."
"See, solve. Now shut up. Sir Alpha needs sleep." He praised and tries to fall back to sleep.
Liv rolls her eyes to him before meeting mine. "The point of him staying is for you two to try and see. Don't do anything because of someone's behalf. You deserve this. You give so much, it’s time you get something in return."
But how. My world is giving and retaining my oaths. It'll be selfish if I look for myself.
I let that settle in and thought maybe my dear sister is right. Or maybe my wise brother is?
Damn it.
I’ll have to try her way to know if his was right.
"Thanks, Elizabeth."
I lean over to kiss her cheek. Only to have Travis get mad and pulling my collar down to him.
"Nope. She's mine. Leave so my mate can suck my c**k and you go do whatever with yours pat.."
"Oh, to clarify. I had Elizabeth longer. We even kissed first, remember." I teased. All jokes though.
In my account, it was a wrong move but whatever.
Before Liv can do anything Travis had that look to fight and I fought back. We roll off to the floor and wrestle like old times.
"Gosh, you two are animals. How am I gonna handle this for eternity?" Liv chimed.
We stop one bit to comment. "By sneaking me your baking goods." I wink.
"Mine, fucker." Travis pulls me down and we fought.
Liv sighs and steps at the edge of the bed. "Oh no. It's too much. I'm sorry, boys. I think it's best I run away with dear Cullen and start our pathetic lives together." She fake sorrows and wave her hand over her head.
She began to walk towards the door and Travis pulls off. I stood to my feet fast, aware of her joke.
Whether she was joking or not. Travis doesn't play that s**t. He ran to her who use her speed. It was a cute game.
Just two over steps and he caught her. Travis brought her back to the bed and throw her on. Her gasp said it all. "Little Witch, I warn you. Now I have to claim you in another wolf’s eyes." His voice was strongly possessive as his Alpha demands.
Travis started to take his belt off. My eyes widen. And when his pants drop to show just his boxers, Liv leans her head back in a red expression. "Oh, brother Mason. You may want to leave. Like now." She warns as Travis throws his body on top of her.
"Trauma. Both of you. f*****g trauma." I say before rushing myself out the room. Their loud giggles just said it all.
I hate to say it. Just as much as I hate to feel it. "I want what they have."
"Maybe we could. With him if we try."
"We'll see."
And see we will. Our story may not even be a story.
