Perry
Oh, how finer wine can taste after such wait. Even finer after the vines have a story behind its taste itself. Sweet and bitter really is a good combo.
It last longer, the bittersweet.
Upon my first stay I must make it count. And count I shall. I overheard Travis speaking on how Luna is sleeping in a bit more and requested breakfast in bed. I took that as a calling.
When time was right I follow the Omega with the tray. I did what I can so it was me to being it to her. The young man didn't fight and went out quick for me.
I knocked on the door, softly, and waited a few seconds. No one answered, so I turn the knob and ha. It was unlock.
Paying little to no mind to the room. I walk in slowly to make sure she was still asleep.
"Oh, déesse céleste." (Oh, heavenly Goddess)
The thin air choked me. I wasn't prepare for this. The small step I took was only to place the tray on the nightstand. But even then, I felt trapped in a dream.
She was sleeping. A sheer nightgown that doesn't properly cover. The covers were off to her ankles and I see her glorious body. It excites me. I dreamed of her beautiful skin for my eyes and lips. Countless solo release done.
As I watch and grew a need. I walk towards to reach for the covers and hide her perfection. It was not okay to have her so expose, but at least it was me and not that omega who saw her.
I'm sure Travis would agree.
I took a deep breath to compose myself and as that pass, I kicked the hell out the bed to rock until her beauty was standing at my face. Glowing eyes and bare teeth to kill me under her hands.
"What the hell are you doing in my room?!"
I grin cheery. Even when her grip on my throat tighten I was exceeding my day. "Bonjour. Je t'ai apporté le petit déjeuner."
She followed my eyes to the tray. Releasing me with a huff. She excuse herself to the closet. Doing so I had to count in my head to ease my d**k from rising even more from her encounter. Ahh, it was remarkable.
Once dress and one hell of an outfit. She sat down to drink her tea. She picks it up and sniffs the brew. Her eyes narrow slightly before taking her first sip.
A flutter feeling swims. Wondering if she tastes it. If she knew.
"Don't watch me." She demands.
"Eat."
"I am eating." Pointing to her tea.
"You need food, Pétard. Real food." I suggest.
She takes a few more sips and stands to her feet. Her expression on me was bold. It was a turn on.
"Drinking my special morning tea that usually has my Alpha's blood not mix with yours is my nutriment."
Ah, she can taste the difference. Perfect. I'm part of her right now.
I lean on the wall and nod. Waiting for her to finish. Anymore talk will just get her sass.
Finally done. She started her day. And I started it with her. She question my clutch. I gave a small answer. "Observing, mon Pétard."
"Espace respectable." She demanded.
"I am at your serves. Do with me as you will." I winked.
Not amused but yet she didn't tell me go away.
The morning was light, she walks almost the halls to greet her people. She was kind and when she needed a firm tone she would express it. Her demands were never question from the wolves.
Walking down a long hall. We stopped at a door. Pétard's head turns to me with that firm expression.
"Thank you for the walk but you can go now."
"No, no. I'm free for you, Pétard. Allow me to accompany your day." Clenching my fist to my heart.
Her brows cross. "Look, Perry. Some places here are restricted." She stated.
I looked up to the door. Wondering what is behind it. And as the hall comes back to my head. I recall.
"I will close my eyes and touch nothing." I sweared.
That didn't pleased her. Not one second. "If you're so bored. Then.."
Ring Ring
My phone rings. I take a look and ignore it.
"I see what you're doing. Go to my office if you're bored. Answer your call and wait for me. This won't take long."
"It's not an important call when you-"
"Perry." f**k. Again she said my name within closeness. "Just go and wait."
"Fine." I see she was anxious to go into this room alone. And as she opens her mouth to say more I stopped her. "I know. I will not stalk your info. I'll respect your privacy." I say to her.
Such a curl slip on her lip just then. "No, not that. Um never mind." Her hand slips from the door. She takes a look at her phone. Reading the time. "Are you sure you don't need to call home?" I shook my head.
In reality I should but I had send Amy a text, email clients, and inform my parents that I'll be staying here for a bit.
It's only been a few hours. No wavers yet.
"Let's go then." She ordered our way out the house. And as I am her minion. I followed her. I take every second of her time for myself.
Pétard took it among herself to walk me through the change of Black Harvest. It was quite larger than I remember. On the times I'd visit within the months. I never got a walk-through.
Now was the perfect time. I even had the pleasure to watch her train the witches. It was a sight to see her.
Watching the growth of Luna Clara was exactly as she explained on the phone many times.
"You did wonders to this place. You succeed in a peaceful environment here. The children to come will thank you." Keeping my eyes at sight. A village made within a pack land.
I peel away to see her face strain. Like something bothered her. "Did my compliment offend you?" I asked.
"What was past for you here Perry? I know you had some kind tie here. Do you ever thought if things were different your friendship with Travis and Mason would-"
"It does not matter." I stated between her sentence. "But if you ask, I'll try. But don't hope too much."
That friendship was done for. Even for her it may not be repaired.
"But, Perry, what if.." My hand capture her head. It was rattling with unnecessary things. She shouldn't worry her mind with this broken past.
It was my fault anyways.
I look deep into her eyes to ensure she listens to my words. "Do not bother your mind with such thing. It is not yours to fix. Some things are broke and you are not to fix such broken thing you did not cause. If it does heal then so well. Now, allow me to accompany you in your day without dwelling in others past."
Her eyes tremble to my voice. This was the first I had ever been a bit rough to her. Even my tongue held that tight in sweet roll.
"Good. Very good, mon Pétard."
Even with the agreement. I see she is nosy in curiosity. Her eyes dance in my presences. Her lips part to say things but she was ask questions from people.
After a few minutes she had settle down. Panting in tiredness we walk a small trail from her class. It seems she begins to enjoy me here. Her smile grace our time.
"May I ask a question?"
I chuckle. "Go on."
"Why haven't you found a new betrothal?" My expression harden as if it was wrong to. She rushes to add on. "What I mean is, after my death why didn't you just go for Mery?"
"Meredith?" A laugh escape my lips. I pat her head to fade her frown away. "Allow me to set this straight. The only reason I visited then was to get a sense of you and your death. Everyone was dull though. It was frustrating truthfully. A betrothal of Meredith was offer from herself but I said no on the spot."
"Why though? It made sense." She respond with a low anger. Which made me smile.
"She's not type, very far really."
"I'm not your type plus I'm married to my mate."
Her reminder stings less and less.
"Haha, you are a woman and I have never been driven to anyone more than you. You are my ma.. my Pétard and I can't go back in a promise." I said before slipping out the mate word that she'll just decline.
And that will hurt.
"What promise?" She asked.
Everything fell back then. I couldn't help my voice dropped as I tell her. As she's really here in front of me now. I wasn't talking to her spirt. It was her.
"I promised to find you and never leave your side. It meant more when you died. And even now I hold it higher." I admitted.
Her eyes shine from my confession. It was like she understood it.
I watch as her lips part, her hand reach out to touch me. But before she could my body was jerk back.
My air was taking away from some heavy item being thrown at me. Getting up, I realize what it was.
"Oliver, don't be mean!" She stomped her foot at a large white wolf.
I help myself up when the wolf quickly turns into Mason who never holds a curl to me. It was just as amusing as it is from Travis.
"Nice to see you too, Mason."
"Step back. You need to stop touching her."
My lips tighten. "I assure you I have yet to touch her in the sweet.."
"Okay, enough." Pétard cleared a space between us.
In ache from Mason's hit. He pulls her to the side just a bit. They whisper to each other. I watch as she was met in a confuse concern, and then a firm nod was met.
I step closer to hear. Mason just thanks her while she pats his cheeks.
"You don't have to ask. I can truly use more Beta time anyways".
More Beta time?
I couldn't help but commented. "Don't tell me you took an affair from him and not me?" Sounding a bit jealous.
Before neither can deny from my obvious joke, their eyes fog over.
Pétard was not happy once their connection was cut off. "Come on. Travis will meet us at the gate."
Without further words. The three of us headed off.
By the time we had arrived to the gate of Black Harvest. Travis was there. His eyes slice to me and then towards Liv. She waves down her hand. His harsh sneer appeared a canine, reviewing my presence here as clear as always.
Well, f**k him. I'm here for mon Pétard anyways.
The gate never opened. We stood one side as a tall slim woman stood on the other with a male.
Travis approached near his gate while we stood just mere feet behind. I stayed close to her side, ready to protect her.
"What the hell do you want."
"Oh, relax, Alpha Travis. I just want to see how the Ceremony went. Sorry we missed it." She pouted untruthfully.
"Speak, Harlot, or get the hell out." He warned her.
A smug framed her face. Taking a few steps toward the gate. Her eyes wonder. My hands curl when I notices her eyes locked on a certain person.
"Well, allow me to let you know, I'll be around a bit. I'm also curious to know.." A deep lock on Pétard now. "Did it backfire, hybrid?"
It was pure malice grin on the woman's face. It trigger Pétard enough to grab any sharp object near by and throw it at the woman. It nearly miss her and it seems to amused the woman.
Taking that and the long trail of dark webs I feel. I wrap my hands on both Pétard's arms to bring her back.
"Ha, you make this game fun. So, be aware. You made us wait 3 years and I'll be sincere and take a breather until.." Her eyes shifted once again to Pétard. "Yeah, that. Good day, Alpha." And then she just left with the man.
I didn't like the encounter. It was short and clearly I'd miss something. Either way, that woman has some loose screws. Something that was unsettling really.
Travis walks towards us. Glowing eyes demands my touch off. I peel away so he can try to comfort her. Her gaze never left the gate though.
Moving his hands up and down her arms. You see her still in a tight rage. Her finger tips spark a light.
"Ignore her, baby. She jus-"
"Perry, did you get anything?" She asked.
Everyones eyes glued on me but her. "Yes. But it's best to talk indoors."
She nods, while leading everyone inside.
Following her beauty, I begin by tell them what I sense. Beyond that she was held a full grudge here. A large part of her showed a need of death. This woman had tugged on that. One that doesn't go away. A foolish ambition of hers is to have Black Harvest and everything close burn. I can not only feel but see her desire to seek that. It was an all bad feeling. And having her mock on Pétard felt trigging to me.
"We know she's not the type to just back down." Pétard says.
"Syline's ambitions has fail before. They'll fail again." Travis said.
Making our way down the pack house. We make a stop down the stairs. Travis's hand stops me before making the last step. Our eyes lash a hate.
"This is where you leave. No more snooping."
Is this bastard serious. After everything I just said he's really just gonna let her get closer to anyone from that pack. It's like he wants her to be use. He's not thinking of her safety properly.
And why she needs me around her. I can protect better.
"Let him pass. He's necessary for this part too." Pétard's voice was different then. Even my own reaction was cast.
Travis tries to argue with her. But how the hell could he with her wits. Even if she wasn't a witch. Her alone was magic.
Quickly, Travis was convince. And still her eyes gloss over. She was in a maze, I see it.
Travis orders me to stay quiet. I shut him out and mutter the safety for Pétard only. Even then I didn't get her to snap a comment.
What is she thinking? She's a hell of a woman to even come down here. f**k, I'll be scared. And turn on.
We head in a closed door. Blood and sweat stink up the air. As did the sight of a young man chain at the wall. He sat there seated with legs cross and his head hanging down.
"Oh, goodie, a party from your highness. Welcome." The man said as his head rise up weakly.
His eyes search and then falls back. Avoiding gazes.
"Stand to your feet when a Luna is present!" Travis yelled.
You see the man fight back. But only great will can resist an Alpha's order.
He struggles to stand. Leaning his body up by the wall. Swinging his head up, his body tense at the act.
Pétard takes a few steps. I reach to hold her back. Travis grips my arm. A low growl from Mason and a soft nod from Pétard gives me the sense to allow her to do her thing. To watch her.
She stands not far from the boy. He focus on her and her alone.
"What did Luna Syline do?" She asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I have no idea what you're asking." The smug bastard said.
Travis roars just then. The man barely flinch.
Pétard strive to him, lift his chin to meet her gaze. A soft whisper before his expression cross to her words. "Not the bombs and all. She had other intentions. She did something, didn't she?"
You see how the man watch. Reading some hidden lime I didn't know.
The man nods. She then ask what.
"It was a secret plan. She secretly gave every pack member a drink that was dose. It was a test for you, Luna. To see rather you can control your bloodlust. Luna Syline hoped you were more rank in the reaper side and lose control as you kill. A normal vamp will kill just a few but a reaper will just keep kill." He explain.
I took my time to seep into this man's mind as he speak. The way he did said something to me.
He took two step at her. Making Mason and Travis so the same.
"So, Luna, did you drench yourself in the blood where the body count didn't add up." He smug at her. "Ironic. A reaper Alpha found his reaper mate."
Again she touch his chin, a drop of blood dripped down. "Don't wait on her. You're not in her worries." The man had a shock of look in his eyes.
Walking out Liv ask what I knew. Giving what I found. My gaze went to Mason who holds a very odd look. Peeling back I respond to mon Pétard.
"Just a trail of trouble. He's not concern of this whole act the Luna places on. His mind falls in his own troubles. That is all."
Mason eyes was on the floor, Travis grunt in displease. Not her. She took my arm and smiled. "As I thought. I knew the rest. Thank you for today."
Travis met her side. Being more around her I see her resilient. How she mask it all. No one can tell. Besides her eyes. And for the bond that us, three old pals can see it on her. Yet, her ease is different. I'm jealous it's not just me.
Oh well.
"Time for a break, baby." Travis tells her. She takes his hand before kissing him.
A pain stab my chest. I took the rest of the day to just myself. Wasn't a lot but I should keep what I had from her. Today was good and he should keep her mimd at peace now. I leave it to him.
I felt a relentless of no sleep. All I thought was her and everything that trapped her happiness. Every time she needed someone and she was alone. How it wasn't me to reach her first. I wish it was me to have her eyes as she has mine.
I spend hours staring at the dark. I had no clue of time. The pouring of the rain took me out of bed.
Walking out my room, I roamed downstairs and stopped at the entrance door to watch the cast. It looked beautiful up close.
"Someone is up late?" A sweet voice says.
"Mm, so are you."
She giggles as if I made a joke. Her smile made my heart bloom.
"It's my night post. Even before taking my title I will try to end my nights checking the safety of my people." She moves closer to me.
She places her hand out touching the rain that heavily falls Her smile grow at the coldness. "I adore the rain. Even.."
"You'll get sick." I pull her back as she tries to leave into the rain-cast.
"Oh, Perry. I can't get sick. I'm half dead remember."
She may take that as a joke but I didn't. "You don't have to remind me. I relived both times."
"I lived. Remember that only." She said as she pokes my cheeks.
"Oh, sweet Pétard." I grin wildly to her tease. "I remember a lot more than that. I dream of things too." I winked.
She ignores me and watches the rain a bit. I watch her though. How her face drops and pulls back.
"You should care for yourself more even if your a hybrid. Don't be a hero. Those fuckers die. Just live overall, okay. Be safe. This world is dangerous." I warn her.
"Why do you do things like that?" Questions why I'm so nice to her but then a mess to other.
"Does it have to be why? Can't I just do it to do it?" I displayed.
"There's a reason for it. There's always a reason." So wrong, very wrong.
"Not when it's you, mon Pétard."
She sighs heavily. Now leaning closer to the door. "You are a very known person, Perry. But I want you to know I never allowed anyone to say awful things about you. I believe that good soul you showed me once."
Of course she does. Mon Pétard.
"As do I. Split some skin too but f**k them, right." I chuckle.
"People pleasing is exhausting. I hate it."
"You're an astounding woman. Being in your space is heavenly. I want to keep it forever, mon Pétard." I take her hand to me. Thinking maybe a walk in the rain is good.
It's insane but for her, f**k it.
But she pulled on me. Her eyes won't shining. Her green faded out.
"Bittersweet, toxic air. Should I believe you'll love that upon me?" Asking so, I see she's lot in her mind again today.
"It'll be an honor to hear so words from you. To have you." I admit.
"Is that what you want? Me to leave Travis and belong to you only?"
I drop her hand unable to respond to her.
"At this moment should I take your hand fully and just fall into your heart instead of them. I'll be safe and care for with you I know that."
Her eyes. It change just then. She looked at me. Green eyes trapping me with something.
Was she? Can this be it? Does she feel it too? Pétard?
My mind flutter in dreams. Crashing the second she chuckles at the act. "Chill, Perry. You'll grow a second head."
"Oh, Pétard. You are just glorious. I give you that. Know I am yours. Despite every pain, including your deaths."
She instantly shook her head. Even her nose crinkled. "Don't right now. We'll speak about that another time." In her eyes that darken from her past. I nod to her request.
Wasn't long for her first mate to ruin our time and try to take her away from me once again.
"Travis?"
"Perry?"
She kisses his cheeks. Making him peel from me to her. "Did you walk the grounds with him?"
It brought me joy to hear the slight jealousy in him.
"I didn't do it. It's a nice rain cast. So, I just watch. He kept me company." She wrapped herself around his arms.
"Okay. We can rest. Do worry-"
"What do I have to worry of?" He smiles and kiss her lips.
With that painful image I saw it to myself to try get some rested eyes. Yet, the dread still haunted me. Her life in danger haunted me.
She needs me.
A Few Days Now.
Awaiting for Pétard in her office as she requested me. The all mighty Luna had to punish a wolf prisoner and this time I stay away.
In my time I thought I answer a video call from my dears sister. They annoyingly won't stop demanding me home. But I can not leave.
I won't leave.
"It's almost been a week, Brother. You have overstayed your welcome. Return." Amy says. As does my younger sisters.
The two most little ones tried to guilt me into it. Bargain even. But neither of those will work. I had made up my mind. They shall accept it.
I have an awful gut feeling telling me once again to be at her side. I can't ignore or see pass it like they had demanded me before. I made that mistake way too many.
"You won't talk me out of it after the last time."
"Perry, there's no way any of us would have known."
"I did!" My voice rose high. "I told you again and again I needed to see her. But none of you listen and each time she.. I'm not leaving."
All my sisters faces gloomed. Leaving just Amy to show her face. "Fine. But don't ghost us, Perry. We just want to know your okay too. Please."
I nod my head. Truing to ease my haunted past.
Just then the door open. I say my goodbyes and welcome Pétard back. She close the door and hold san unhappy face.
"What's wrong? Travis stuck in a tree?" I joked.
"You should return to them, Perry. They clearly miss you."
I got out my chair and tower her in a small space between us. I wasn't having this talk with her either.
"I won't leave until it feels safe for me to go. I'm not losing you again. I don't want to feel that pain a third time. I'll avenge on your deaths and every pain you endure." No one. Not even my family will keep me away from her this time. "It wasn't just a betrothal. So no. I won't leave."
My voice sharpen and she never flatter from the tone. She read the lines and touch my chin with her thumb.
It took a lot to not fall into her. To kiss her.
Her thumb cupped my chin. Caressing as her lips parts from my out burst of anger. "I understand."
My brows turn in shock. "You do?"
She smiles as she walks around me. Taking her chair for herself.
"You're not too complex given your taste for me. So, I had already spoken to your parents who asked about your presence here."
"What?"
"It's whatever, Perry. I just made something up to convince them you are needed. Upon my request." She stated to me.
I couldn't help but smirked at her. And Moon Goddess mighty help me to not kidnap this woman and take my desiring urges out on her right now.
She lied to her allies for me. To my parents. Highly respected witches. She lied. For me. Me.
I'll own up to promise. I'll do better from my failures. For her, I need to.
I don't care how long my stay will be. She needs me here. I won't abandon her.
