"Do you know him?" Nina asked, following my gaze.
I shook my head. Julian stood up and walked toward the security guards holding the man. "Who sent you?" Julian demanded, his voice cold and hard.
The man spat at Julian's feet. "No one sent me," he said. "I came on my own, someone had to make her pay for what she did."
"What did she do?" Julian pressed.
"She destroyed the Cross family!" the man shouted. "Good, honest people, and she tore them apart with her lies!"
Understanding hit me like a physical blow. He thought I'd destroyed Victor Cross, thought the video evidence of murder was somehow my fault.
"She didn't destroy anyone," Julian said, his voice dangerously quiet. "My father destroyed himself when he killed my mother."
