Chapter 1: Game of Thrones

"GAME IT ALL," pangalan pa lang nakakaintriga na. Parang napaka-risky nang dating. Alam mo naman tayo, kung ano ang delikado, buwis buhay at nakaka-curious. Sa halip na umiwas ay lalong makikipagsapalaran. Pero bago ako sumabak sa laban ay tinignan ko muna kung anong meron sa site. Dahil online gaming siya baka kailangan ng pera, hindi naman sa naghihirap ako, pero sa panahon ngayon every peso counts. Hindi ako sugarol at wala akong planong ubusin ang pera ko sa laro. Ilang oras ko rin 'atang binabasa ang nakasaad dito hanggang sa matapos ko ito.

Wow, to my surprise, no need for real money, like other gaming sites, each player will receive coins every time they visit the site. They call it a daily reward and If ever I want to obtain more coins, all I have to do is invite friends or get coins from a friend. Just like that and of course, the more I win the more coins I get. Sounds good to me. 

The only downside of this game is when all you lose all your coins and you still want to play some more, then you have to spend your money to buy more coins. That is the quickest and easiest way to obtain coins and it applies to all compulsive gamblers. Hindi naman ako aabot sa ganoon, wais yata ito!

Creating an account is mandatory, I created my profile using a dummy account since I don't feel safe to disclose my real information. Come on don't judge me, it's not like I'm not the only one doing it! But I used my real photo, hindi naman sa pagyayabang pero maganda ako kaya bakit ko ikakahiya? Sabi nga ng nanay ko, if you have it, flaunt it! After completing my profile, there is a link where I was directed to another room.

The CASINO ROYALE, it is divided into different categories. There is a link for players who are interested in sports games, another is for players who are into stock markets, also for players who are into arcades and lastly for players who are into gambling.

Each category is subdivided into rooms and each room has a maximum number of players. It was headed by the best player in the room, whom they called the TEAM LEADER.

I entered one of the rooms. One thing I've noticed with all the rooms, it is named after the zodiac animals. I decided to join the "Monkey Room". 

 At first, I was just observing how they played. I also watch and try to study the game mechanics. Then, I started from one coin and if ever I won, I just keep rolling it to double my winnings. Simple lang hindi ba? Masyadong basic!

I saw a comment section where the players get to chat and talk to each other. 

"Wow, there's an interaction between players, nice. I kinda like it even more!" I said to myself.

I watched their conversation and familiarized myself with the high rollers and the lucky bastards who always wins and took all of our coins. I decided to chat with them using my username "LOLLIPOP".

Ang tagal kong naghintay pero deadma. There are players who greeted me politely and others were snub. They are very focused on the game. Hindi ko naman sila masisisi kung ang atensyon nila ay wala sa akin. I've noticed something, not all players were there for the same reason. Some are there to find pleasure or maybe someone to talk to. Ang iba nagpapalipas lang ng oras, marami rin ang nakatambay lang. But there are others who were the real deal. They are the real gamblers who are so obsessed with the games. And there are some players who are just like me, with a keen sense of adventure and just want to have fun.

In a poker game, there are different room with different tables and a group or a set of players similar to a chatroom that is subdivided with rooms and if the room reaches the maximum number of players, the player needs to transfer to another room to play, so if you became a regular player in the room, a slot or a seat is reserved especially for you. Until you get beaten by another player. The room has an "all member-only policy" and you need to earn your spot to be part of it.

Amongst the players who greeted me, there was a regular player in that room. I'm using LOLLIPOP at that time and that guy is using DAREDEVIL the nick speaks for itself...

DareDevil: Hey LOLLIPOP, are you new? Haven't seen you before... did you came from another room?

Sa wakas may kumausap na rin sa akin, mukhang duduguin ako dito . Hindi ko akalain na englishan pala ang labanan dito bukod sa sugalan.

LOLLIPOP: Yes, I'm new, a first-timer... :) 

Medyo nagpabebe muna ako, first impression last,  kaya naman dapat nice and polite ako. Lalo na at baguhan pa lang ako sa site na ito.

DareDevil: I see, this is an exclusive room. You need to earn your spot to stay here.

LOLLIPOP: How I am supposed to do that?

DareDevil: Challenge somebody and if you win, you'll stay, but if you lose you need to go.

LOLLIPOP: Sounds fair, do you want to play?

DareDevil: You got some balls to challenge me! I run the show here and you don't get to challenge me. I choose who can compete with me.

LOLLIPOP: My bad... do you happen to know who I can challenge?

DareDevil: Sure I'll arrange someone for you, but since you're already here, just enjoy the game. For now.

End of Group Chat Conversation:

While waiting for my challenger, I just enjoy the poker game in that room I don't really care whether I got kicked out or not. I'm just there to play and have fun. It's not a big deal, but of course, sino ba naman ang gusto mapaalis ng maaga? To be honest, I don't mind a little extra fun and challenge.

The challenger arrived shortly. I was thinking maybe he is the weakest player in the room since he was the one who gets to play with a newbie like me. It was all a game of luck and in the back of my mind, it's going to be everybody's ball game and so we started to play...

I was relaxed and feeling lucky that time and the challenger were uneasy and nervous, maybe because he knows the risk of losing his seat to a newbie like me will be an embarrassment for him. But for me, I have nothing to lose but my coins. Kung sakaling matalo ako, lilipat na lang ako sa ibang room para maglaro.

The game didn't last long, he was so reckless and continuously losing, up to his very last coin. In other words, I won that round and took over his seat. It feels like a trip to Jerusalem game or a board member in a company with an exclusive membership. I was not a good player. I just got lucky. And so, everybody congratulated me and welcomed me as an exclusive member of the room...

DareDevil: Welcome LOLLIPOP, you just earned your seat in the room.

LOLLIPOP: Thanks, I just have one question.

DareDevil: What?

LOLLIPOP: Why didn't you accept my challenge earlier? Are you afraid a newbie like me will beat you?

DareDevil: You are a tenacious one. Do you really think you can beat me?

LOLLIPOP: Why not? It's a game of luck. I'll take my chances...

DareDevil: You'll get your chance someday... for now, just enjoy your seat. You can never tell when it will be taken away from you.

Daredevil is the first player who noticed me and even with my impoliteness, he is still patient enough to explain to me how things work in the Monkey Room. He is very accommodating but very strict at the same time, gentle but tough,  nice but very prank, rude but that's his way of showing his concern to his members. I really find him interesting. Very mysterious and with his bad-boy image, he really turned me on.

Daredevil was on top of the food chain and in order to beat him, you must beat the players below him. This is not just a regular online casino game. Not just a poker game,  it's a dog eats dog. The weakest get to be eliminated and forced to leave. It's not about the coins anymore. It's a battle of pride and hierarchy... ITS A GAME OF THRONES...
