Chapter 4

Meliodas
I hadn’t anticipated the jolts of eletric shocks that jolted my bones and the butterflies that fluttered my torso. My heart betrayed me, and started feeling a pull of what most would call attraction towards this woman, that is what she was.
She was no girl. She knew what she was doing and it definitely made me faulter for only a split second before the fight started.
I hadn’t intended on breaking her arm though, huilt knawed its way at me, I had bever felt guilty for hurting someone or inflicting them pain before.
That was different though..
Wasn’t it?
“I am sorry I hurt you.” I said as we reached the infirmary through her directions, she stayed silent, her head buried into my chest, her on arm clutched to her body and cradled by the other arm.
“I didn’t mean to.” I continued.
“It’s quite alright Meliodas, I know you didn’t mean to.” She said softly, and the butterlfies fluttered even more so at the sound of her voice.
I shook my head, trying to will- whatever this was- away.
As we entered the infirmary, there was a nurse whos eyes widened when they landed on me, and she looked between me and her.
“You might want to put her down.” The nurse said, fear laced in her voice.
“Why?” I asked, furring my brows as she lowered her head and almost practically curled in a ball right here on the floor.
“Because you’re manhandling my wife.” A hateful voice came from behind me, the voice itself was deep, cold and had an agressive hatefulness to it.
I turned and came to look at a man a couple inches shorter than me, his muscle mass was nonexistent, his black eyes gave him a sinister look that might have scared anyone else, but not me.
Lilith had gone stiff in my arms and slightly buried herself deeper in my arms, I tightened my grip on her.
“And you are?” I asked, holding his gaze that held a powerful pull that I assume was supposed to put me in the same position as the poor nurse on the floor.
“You must be new.”
“I am Lucifer.”

The wondeful shocks of whatever feeling this was and there was a sense of safety being in his arms. Then came Lucifer’s arua, his arua alone should have put this man on edge, but he didn’t even notice Lucifer had walked into the room until he spoke, and even then, Meliodas should have submitted to him.


He didn’t though.


He stood taller, muscles tense, his grip on me tightened, and I felt even safer than before.


Impossible to be safe with Lucifer around.


I knew what would come if I stayed in his arms, I’d be beaten, he could go around and cheat on me and have whatever he wanted when he wanted, but that is not how it worked for me.


If he heard I smiled the wrong way to a man, he’d get angry and I’d be punished.


“Well, Lucifer. I am not manhandling her, I accidentally-“


“I got hurt during a training session, I broke my arm. He just carried me here. Thank you Meliodas.” I interrupted, knowing Lucifer would have him killed if he knew that Meliodas was the cause of me having a broken bone.


“You having a broken arm required you to be carried?” Lucifer remarked.


“I was tripping all over myself, losing my balance and he was the only one around to help me.” I said, Licifer hummed and I slightly squirmed, Meliodas got the hint thankfully and set me down.


“Thank you again Meliodas, you are dismissed.” I stated, not looking up from his hard chest, he bowed his head slightly, then turned and walked away.

This guy is the Lucifer?!


What a joke, he looks like he weighed 100 pounds soaking wet.


Don’t underestimate him. I remind myself, I had seen men like him before, they may not look like much but they could hold their own in battle, they’d use their size to their advantage. Them being smaller, lighter, faster definitely helped them win fights, though it was a lot harder for them when someone like me cane around and could match their speed even with my size.


I walked back to my house, room, whatever it was when I found one of those black void doorways. Leroy was waiting for me.


“I saw what happened, let’s try NOT to piss off Lucifer?” He suggested, I gave him a curt nod as a response.


“Ill show you the shower.” He stated as he waled toward the bathroom, I followed and seen I would assume is this “shower” he mentioned. He showed me the towels, and I noticed the significant difference in material.


He showed me how it worked and showed me what each soap was for and told me how to use them. He showed me something humans called a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and mouthwash.


He told me how to use each thing.


I made several mental notes, we didnt have all this in my time, I am sure that is why he knew I would need to know these things.


Part of me was excited and loved the idea of not using a bathhouse, I shuddered at the thought. Most of the time I had just bathed in the rivers or lakes.


He bid me farewell and I used the shower for this first time, it was the best thing humans had invented by far, I reveled in the way the water sprayed my body, the water droplets cascading down till they disappeared into the drain.


I felt cleaner than I had bathing the way I did in my human life, I grabbed the towel and draped it around my waist. It stayed there as I flossed, brushed my teeth and used the mouthwash as Leroy had described.


The toothbrush was something I would definitely have to get used to, I had used chewing sticks to often “brush” mine. The sift bristles as they raked my teeth and the feel of the pasty toothpaste was definitely different.


I put on a pair of underwear and basketball shorts, I walked over to the bed and laid down, covering myself and laying my head on the pillow.


I groaned as this was the most comfortable bed I had ever laid on, sleep came fast, I was anxious for the next day and what it would bring.


I dremt of Lilith, her smile, her fighting, her begging for help as she reached out to me, her face wet from the tears she was crying.


No matter how fast I ran.


No matter how hard I tried to get to her.


I couldn’t reach her.
