I watch helplessly as Rowena runs from her apartment. She leaves me standing in the kitchen dumbfounded. My fists ball up at my sides, and I slam them down on the hard granite of the kitchen counter. The granite cracks under the pressure of my fist. "f**k," I groan as I look at the destruction. I will have to pay to have this fixed.
Taking deep breaths in and out of my nose, my anger at myself finally subsides. Now that I can think clearly, I know I pushed Rowena too hard. I should have never tried to force her to say she loves me.
