Rowena POV
I stand with my hands wrapped around my body as the man with dark brown eyes pleads with me. I think he said his name is Mason. I close my eyes and try to remember if I know anyone by that name, but I am coming up blank.
Mason takes a step toward me, and I take a step back. I don't know who I can trust. Mason says he is here to rescue me, but how do I know that he isn't going to try to take advantage of me as well?
I begin to pace the bedroom floor, and Mason steps back to give me room. He checks his watch impatiently, but he does not rush me. But I feel that time is of the essence here, and I am wasting it.
