I curl up in the porch swing with Maddox. He is the sweetest biggest white lab I have ever seen. My parents got him for me the spring I graduated high school and it was love at first sight. It was hard leaving him all those years while I traveled, but my parents took great care of him, and we facetimed a lot! When I returned, he was so happy and rarely lets me out of his sight now. I scratch his head, “I promise I won’t leave you again boy” and he nodded as if he understood.
“Can I get that same promise?” Maddox and I both whip around to see Weston walking up. “Geez, you scared me!” “Sorry” and gives me a hug. “O wow you smell so good” and dips his nose into my neck so I can feel him breathing me in. “okay lover boy, need you to tone it down some. O good here comes everyone now!”
I escape from his embrace and run over to hug Mia, as we have a lot of details to exchange about our nights!
“Before I forget, mama said we can borrow her Tahoe so we don’t have to take as many cars, if that works for everyone?”
Everyone agrees, so we load up the Tahoe and shuffle some cars around and head out. I let Weston drive and Dylan is sitting up there in the passenger side. Jackson and Lucey in the middle, with Mia and I in the very back. Like we are teenagers again, we are writing on notepads to not be heard from anyone. Though I get glances from Weston in the rearview mirror when he hears our squeals and giggles.
