Chapter 16 Skylar’s (P.O.V.) Monday morning and I was back in work in work and feeling the highs of the past weekend. After Friday night, Sam and I stayed in the whole weekend, eating, playing games, talking and having the best s*x I’ve ever known. It’s opened up so much for us and not just the physical part but the connection we share and it’s scaring the crap out of me. I was floating on cloud nine and not even the end of year college show, coursework marking and end of year exams stress with blow me off. I was on my lunch break when I received a text from Sam. Sam: I can still taste you on my tongue. Skylar: Should probably brush your teeth again ;) Sam: If I did, I’ll just have to have you again tonight. Sam: Maybe this time in my kitchen… Sam: Or my office again. I think that’s my favourite spot. Skylar: Damn, I’m in work and not at yours, and now I’m inappropriately horny, sitting at my desk. Sam: I’ve been horny and craving you since you left mine this morning. Skylar: Hopefully I’ll see you next week, got a hot date tonight and every night this week… Sam: Lucky guy. Anyone special? Skylar: Just a guy I’ve been seeing, big hotshot of London, tall, Kinda cute ;) Sam: KINDA?!?! Angel, just you wait for it… Skylar: Kinky, can’t wait. What you doing anyway? Don’t you have a meeting, or people to boss around? Sam: I do but I missed you and wanted to text you quickly. What are you doing? Skylar; On my lunch, marking work and now I have to go and teach a dark room lesson. Text later? I’ll see you tonight anyway? Sam: Pick you up at half 7 from yours. We’re going out for dinner. Gotta show the world that I’m a lucky fella. Skylar: You make me sick haha. Okay, see you then, go be the big boss man. Miss you already. x Sam: Miss you more. X Setting my phone down, I couldn’t hide my grin. I’m excited about tonight, not knowing that he planned for a meal out, I mentally thought of all the dresses I don’t own and panicked. Picking up my phone, I text George. Skylar: Are you going to be home around 6 ish? I NEED HELP!! Sam is taking me out to dinner tonight and I don’t know what to wear. I need your guru guidance. George: As your personal fairy godmother, it is my duty to be there to assist you and bring you to the restaurant (Not the ball yet) I’ll be home 5ish to get started. Love you Pumpkin! Skylar: You will get a bonus for this. You rock. See you later! Love you more! X Breathing in deep, I finally felt the flutters of seeing Sam again and reminded myself he liked me for me. THAT I could finally believe in. Sam’s (P.O.V.) Standing in front of the mirror, taking one last look at my outfit. Simple suit, dark grey in colour with a white crisp shirt. A s**t eating grin that hasn’t left my face since Friday night, which has never happened to me before and something my brother also noticed too. “What’s with grin? Did you sleep with a hanger in your mouth?” he asked over our morning coffee in my office. “Something like that.” I replied back, smiling. “Oi d**k, talk to me! You’re never this happy. It’s creepy.” Throwing a balled up piece of paper at him, hitting him right on his forehead, we both laughed. “Skylar stayed over on the weekend.” I stated. “All weekend?” “Yup, left this morning for work.” He smiled huge, showing all his pearly whites and dimples. Leaning back he had a good look at me. “I can tell that you’re happy and I can take a guess here and say you two spoke and are moving forward.” I nodded “ I’m happy for you and although I hardly know Skylar but from what George has said about her and the look on your face, she’s good for you and that’s all we’ve ever wanted brother.” Feeling choked up, all I could do is nod and mumble a quick thanks, thankful Seth didn’t push it. Noticing something different to, the top buttons of my shirt are left open. Something I have never done before due to my scars. Feeling more confident in showing more of myself in public, although I’m not ready to take my shirt off in public or anything yet but this is a start. Looking at the time, I gathered the rest of what I needed and made my way to Willy’s car in the parking garage. Stopping outside of Sky’s apartment I quickly made my way to her front door and knocked. George opened the door and smiled. “There’s the man of the hour! Come in, she’s almost ready. Do you want a drink or anything?” He asked. After closing the door and walking into the open kitchen. I ‘ve always liked their apartment, it was clean and open and homely. A mixture of George and Sky’s personalities. I shook my head and politely declined. “How have you been George?” “Great, thanks. Just working a lot and designing lots of peoples’ interior spaces. There’s an old woman who is busting my ass by changing her mind every damn day but it keeps me on my toes.” He laughed. “She asked me if I could embed her husband’s ashes into the floor boards.” He shuddered and I cringed at the mental image. “She claims it serves him right for walking all over her in all their whole 40 ish years of marriage. The things I have to deal with, I deserve to retire now.” He shook his head and we both laughed it off. “How’s work and the hospital designing coming along?” “Great! Busy but it’s already got a great feel to the ward. Sky’s work on the walls is amazing. I can’t wait to see it all finished in September.” I gushed. “Me neither. Will there be a large opening for it?” “Definitely, it’ll bring in the publicity to the hospital extension and the designs the artists have done as well as the technology and facilities it will hold. I plan on having a large number of publishers and interviews as well as drinks and a celebration. You’re on the list George, so you’ll see the results too.” Opening his mouth to reply he was cut off by Sky’s voice. “See what results?” She asks, while walking into the room. Turning around, my breath caught in my throat at the vision I was seeing. Skylar was wearing a pale pink flowy dress that stopped half way down her legs, showing off her curves and the freckles I’ve come to know intimately. Her shoulders where out, only the thin straps of the dress to be seen and the way the top half of the dress hugged her breasts and waist instantly made my c**k throb. Damn I wish I could take her straight back to mine but this girl dressed up for me and I can’t wait to show her off to the world as mine. Her long brown hair was cascading around her shoulders in soft waves and she was wearing an assort of her boho rings and necklaces. My boho girl looks beautiful. Knowing I haven’t said anything in a while, I walked straight up to her, grabbed her face and planted a quickly but meaningful kiss on her lips. Pulling back to gaze at her smiling eyes and flushed cheeks I whispered “You look beautiful, angel. Completely owning that nickname of yours.” Her hands held my wrists in place. “Thank you. You look really handsome. Would it be wrong of me to want to just take you into my room and ruin what we look like and completely skip this meal?” She winked at me and giggled. God I love that sound. “You read my mind angel and I would 100% take you up on that but I also want to show you off and actually take you out. You’re staying over at mine tonight though, right?” “Only if you want me to.” She replied. “I’ll always want you at mine.” Still looking and smiling at each other and we were interpreted by a quiet coughing sound coming from the kitchen. Completely forgetting George was in the room with us, we broke apart and walked into the kitchen together, while Sky sorted out her bag and sleep over things. I caught them looking and smiling at each other from across the kitchen island before I said “We were talking about the results of the hospital ward designs and the extension. When it’s all finished we’re gonna have an opening with publishers and interviewers and that. I was informing George is on the guest list.” “I can’t wait to see the masterpieces and the hospital itself, it’s been quite the talk of the city.” “You’ll love it, it’s already taking shape and we’ve only been working on it for a few weeks. I think the garden will be your favourite place.” Sky said. Her excitement evident in the way she’s smiling and looking happy. “You ready to go? Our table is booked for eight.” Curling my arm around her, always seeming to want to touch her, afraid she’ll float away. She nods and hugs George goodbye whilst I give him a handshake. Sky hugs and gives a kiss on Willy’s cheek when she sees him, seeming to make his night. In the car on the way to the restaurant, Sky and I hold hands the whole way. Rubbing fingers back and forth we talk about our day and the restraint I’m taking her to. “It’s called Lola’s. A friend of mine owns it and she’s the best chef. Especially her baking menu where it’s all desserts and puddings. I figured if you have a sweet tooth you’d love it there.” Sky squeezes my hand and is grinning up at me. Although we’re seated, I still tower over her. Bending down we start by sharing a slow, long kiss that turns heated quickly. Our tongues meeting and tangling together. It must have been a few minutes before I realised the car had stopped outside the restaurant. Unfortunately pulling away, she wiped off the smear of lip gloss I must have on and we got out and made our way to the table. The restaurant is modern looking, with high glass windows, sleek wooden flooring and beige and teal coloured walls that brings in a warm and comfortable feeling. Plants hung in various corners and shelves and there was vines with flowers over some of the high ceiling light fixtures over the tables. Patterned rugs over the floors and small candles on each table with bohemian cushioned chairs and matching tables. The place screamed hippie and expensive but it is one the best places to eat in London. I made sure I booked our table in the upper floor on the balcony. There’s only two balconies available and luckily Lola knew it was important to be the only ones up on the upper floor. She had a sixth sense that I was bringing someone special over, so she helped me make the arrangements. Finding our table Sky gasped as she looked around. The whole balcony was only around 15 feet wide and seemingly even smaller with two tables together but it was ours for tonight. It was surrounded by floral arrangements and vines and fairy lights that wrapped up around the balcony structure, giving off colours of pink, orange, yellow and red. The sun was setting over in the west, giving a soft glow over the city we could see. “It’s beautiful Sam.” Sky whispered. Walking over to the balcony behind her, I wrapped my arms around her and propped my chin on her shoulder, pointing to various locations. “There’s the Thames, and the Tate gallery. Saint Paul’s cathedral is a little further away. Over here you can see the London Eye. Have you been on that yet?” Sky shook her head. “I’ll take you one day, the views are amazing.” “I love it. I love looking at the city this way. It’s different and it’s like we’re able to watch from afar without all the business and noise the city makes.” Turning around to face me, my arms creating a tight cocoon, were almost nose to nose. “You’re awfully romantic Mr Anderson.” She smiled up at me whilst playing with my shirt buttons. She seems shy all of a sudden. “I’d rather look at the view I have in front of me right now. I’d take that over the city or any city any day.” I stated. She looked up at me and kissed me quick on the lips, moaning in the back of her throat. “That was a nice thing to say, thank you.” She blushed and I rejoiced once more. Will I ever tire of this feeling. Probably not. “You have buttons opened on your shirt. I’ve never noticed that before, you always have them closed.” Sky noticed and looked up at me. I shrugged, suddenly feeling self-conscious about what she might see, even though she’s seen it all. “I love it. You look great with them open. It suits you. You look hot, I mean you always look hot but you look especially boiling hot tonight.” She stated and shook her head in embarrassment, blushing a scarlet red. My confidence seemed to rocket sky high at her compliment. I grabbed her around the waist and hauled her tightly against me, feeling every god loving curve this girl has. Her arms come around my neck and holding on tightly too. “You have no idea what that compliment means to me.” I said. Sky gazed into my eyes and for a few seconds I swear the earth stopped spinning and it was only us in motion, even though we were stock still. When our lips touched I felt the spark I always feel with her except this time it was close to a firework explosion. Causing goosebumps to rise on my neck and arms from the strokes Sky was doing on my neck, not caring about the slight puckering of skin there. Breaking apart and realising once again where we were, we took our seats and began our meal. This night started out great and I knew it was only going to get better.
