MASON
-I feel like I'm waiting for something that is never going to happen-
I couldn't find her. It has been 7 weeks but I still can't find her. It's like she disappeared. I hope she is okay somewhere. I'm feeling guilty. I haven't slept or eaten in these past few days. It's killing me. Xander is facing the same thing. He is blaming himself for everything.
Samantha is doing her best to keep him sane but she knows that it's only in the hands of Genevieve. We are trying our best to find her but we are failing constantly. My trackers are working hard but it's all in vain. It's frustrating.
I threw my glass on the wall in frustration. The glass shattered all over the place and I screamed loudly. I sat on the floor with my face in my palms. I remember the incident,
'I came back from the party which was held in the backside of pack house. I was drunk as usual. I saw her working in the kitchen and threw my glass at her. She was shocked and looked at me horrified. The glass was shattered around her and I smirked knowing it's gonna hurt her again.
"Do you want us to get hurt?" I asked wickedly.
"N... No alpha." She stuttered.
"Then clean it up." I sat on the couch in front of her.
She moved and glass cut her feet. She winced in pain but collected all the glass. I went near her and took a sharp piece of glass and kept in her hand. She was shivering badly. She gazed at me with wider eyes. I gave her a smug smile and turned her fingers forming a fist of her hand. She winced in pain and tried to pull back her hand. The glass in that fist cut her hand. The blood started coming out and tears rolled down her face.
"Please don't do this." She pleaded, "Please..."
"I love to see you suffer," I said and opened her fist.
Her palm was bleeding badly. I didn't say anything. Something inside my heart ached but I ignored the feeling. My wolf was in pain to see her suffering but I didn't care. I left her there and went back to my room.'
A tear rolled down my face as I realized I made her go through hell and she never said anything. She never opposed. She just tolerated everything without a single word. My gaze fell upon a book and I read a paragraph which pained me more,
"You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
Or you can be full of the love you didn't share.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry or close your mind,
Be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she'd want;
Smile, open your eyes love and go on...."
I closed my eyes and tried to concentrate.
"Mason!" Xander yelled from downstairs. I wiped my eyes and pulled out that poker face.
"What happened?"
"James mind-linked me. He found Genevieve's scent in North Carolina. We need to move." He said in a hurry. My eyes widened and I nodded.
"Brent, you are in charge of this week. You take care of the pack." I said to my third in command.
"Yes, alpha." He bowed.
I ran upstairs and packed a bag.
In next hour, we were in my car heading to Genevieve's location. I didn't know what I was going to say to her but all I knew was I wanted to see her. I just wanted her by my side.
After a day of constant driving, we reached our destination. We stayed at a hotel. Xander couldn't wait and left to find her on his own. I checked up on my pack and it was all good.
I was sitting in a hotel room when Brian, one of my trackers, came with the news that he found her scent there. I was dying to see her, to hold her in my arms, to kiss her and to show her that I love her that I can't leave without her. It was all sudden. After that night we spent together, my feelings were resurfacing but I tried my best to ignore. But now after all the matter was cleared, I was happy.
He smiled at me, "We found our Luna, your mate."
I jumped up from my chair and held his shoulders, "Where is she?"
"Alpha, now she is in a nearby park. She is sitting there. I have kept one warrior to keep an eye on her."
"Show me that place." I ran outside the room.
He ran ahead and I followed him. In five minutes, I was in front of an old park. It wasn't a park actually. There was no one, just a few people who were roaming around and that was the time when that beautiful scent hit my nose. 'Mate' Lucian, my wolf growled. The first time, after all these days, he spoke to me.
I asked Brian to wait outside and I went to find her. I went inside and the scent was strongest, there I saw, my girl, my mate, my Genevieve.
I stopped behind her. I was a little shocked because she couldn't recognize my smell and didn't turn back. I waited and then I realized she was talking to someone. There was no one and my eyes literally popped out when I saw her caressing her little baby bump.
"So are you afraid of coming out of there and face this cruel world? If you are, don't be because I would never leave you alone. You are my little Angel and we will always be together. You are the only thing that's keeping me sane at this moment but seriously I don't want to live. All I want is to end this stupid life but only because you are here, I am living. I am living for you, baby." she wiped her tears which made me feel guilty.
My heart ached with the worst pain ever. I was about to go ahead when one old woman came from behind me and sat beside Genevieve.
