TWENTY-NINE Despite all her talk of wanting to run and shoot and do all the things she hadn't done in the barracks hall, Portia found herself peering out the window just like she had when she lived in the loft. She could sit in the tower windows, if she'd wanted to, but the stone was too cold, so she hung back, not wanting to touch it. There was plenty to see.
