CHAROUTH STRETCHED her wings out to their full width. Facedown, she floated on the water in a rare moment of peace. It didn’t last for long. While she couldn’t see them, she felt the presence of the other angels on the far side of the room. She released a breath, causing bubbles to float up to the surface.
