"BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" My alarm clock screams at me, telling me to get up. I lift my face, and sure enough, the sun is peeking through my horrible sun-proof curtains. "BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" My alarm clock sounds again. Groggy I push the off button and lay back down. Closing my eyes I think of what has happened this last week. Getting up and putting my head on the headboard, I look at my left hand. I stare at the giant ruby occupying my finger. All I can think though, is why did he get me a ruby? He knows I hate the color red.
My phone buzzes sending me out of my thoughts. I look at it but don't necessarily want to see who it is or what it says. Instead, I stare at my room. In the middle is my queen-sized bed with a sage green comforter and light pink throw pillows. There are two doors in front of my bed: one leads to the hall and one leads to my closet. The closet is tiny but I make space with the room I have. On the right of the room is a dresser holding most of my clothes and on top, in her tank, is a leopard gecko named Mushu. On the left side of my room is a bay window. The cushions are the same pink as by pillows. The window curtains are the same sage green as my bed. They make the room come together nicely but they suck at blocking the sun. I guess not everything can be perfect though.
Grabbing my phone I look at the message. More like messages though since there are nearly 30. Glancing through them, they all mean the same thing. Let's plan the wedding!
Growing up every girl wanted to date Jake. Jake was Alpha Luke's son. Which means Jake would become the alpha one day. In sophomore year, Alpha Luke became sick. Everyone was so scared and worried that Jake hadn't found his mate yet. All the girls would circle him at school and always be by his side, but I didn't. I thought Jake was a bully. He was the alpha of the school and he knew it. He and his friends would torment other classmates and be disrespectful to the teachers. I always stayed with my little group of friends, but one day he came and talked to me.
I thought he was doing it to be mean. To talk to the little shy girl but he kept doing it. Every day he would talk to me. It kind of became a habit until every day we would sit together in the classes we had together, we would eat lunch together, and we would see each other in other places than school. Finally, we started dating. That was more than four years ago, and now we're engaged.
