Eyes

The doctor left when Anne nodded. Grant got a key out of his pocket and unlocked my right foot. Anne had drawn a bathe and now it was finally ready for me in the suite. Grant picked me up carefully as if I might melt at any second. Anne held my foot up as we walked to the bathroom. The water in the tub has ice floating on the top. It looks amazing. Anne places my leg on the side while Grant lowers me into the water. I instantly sigh as the water surrounds me. I place my head on the back wall and close my eyes. I'm still in my bra and leggings but I don't care. _________________________________________ I've been in the tub for about an hour. In the beginning, it felt so nice, but now it's warmer and not helping much. Anne is sitting in the room and I think Grant left. "Anne! Anne!" I called out trying to get her attention. "Yes, dear?" Anne walks in with blankets in her arms. "Can you help me get out" I question even though I know it sounds stupid. She smiles softly and walks out of the room probably to go get Grant. _________________________________________ Grant helped me get out and onto the bed while Anne helped me get new clothes. I'm now in a blue tank top and black shorts sweating to death. "Can I walk around?" I plead with Grant. "I don't think you could get very far with that foot..." He says smirking. I want to rip that stupid look off of him, but he looks so cute with it. What am I saying? No no no. "Please! Just let me walk around for a little bit. Get some fresh air?" This time when I ask I have my hands together. "Alright...but I'm staying with you." He says walking to the wall and grabbing crutches. I should have known he'd say that, but at least he said yes. He opens the door while I hobble through trying not to fall. The door leads into a big hall with a plush red carpet, high ceilings, and doors on both walls for miles. "Who are you?" I ask as I walk through admiring the paintings. As we walk I think of what he could be for the pack that lets him stay in this mansion: servant, guard, cook (ironically), gardener, or even the beta. I stop walking and look at him waiting for an answer. He looks at me and sighs, "I'm the Los pack alpha." He says walking towards the stairs. I'm dumbfounded. That was not what I thought he was going to say. _________________________________________ After Grant told me he was the alpha, I didn't say a word. Still haven't. We're in the gardens outside and it's beautiful. The mansion is surrounded by tall green trees. A road leads to the main town, I'd guess, that is a few miles away. The garden is behind the house giving it one of those old money times of themes. The house itself is beautiful. With four floors, balconies, columns, and vines crawling up it, it looks like it would be a movie star's house. "You live here?" I say not really to him but just to say something. He looks at me and smiles. I can't help but smile back. He has such a cute one with dimples. "Does your alpha not live in his best way?" He asks as he sits down on a bench. I sit down with him and shake my head. Luke, my alpha, lives in a two-story house. It's not small or anything but it's nothing compared to this. It makes me wonder what I've been told about them. Growing up we were always told that the Los Pack were monsters. That they kill innocent people and that they live in huts. They are their wolf half the time and they aren't civil compared to anyone else. That's not right though. This house is gorgeous and fancier than anything my pack has. I look at Grant and praise his face. He looks so beautiful right now. With the sun shining on his eyes it makes them look dark blue instead of black. He doesn't look like a scavenger. He looks like a handsome man who is sitting in his garden. I look down at my hands suddenly embarrassed. I don't know why but I feel like I'm clueless. Everything I've been told about them is a lie. I shake my head and smile. Maybe it was just to protect me from them, and hey, they only lied about this and nothing else. Right? _________________________________________ Grant is showing me around the house. We made it to the kitchen, main living room, bathrooms, guest rooms, garages, etc... We're now in his office. I'm surprised he let me in here. In the middle is his desk. Behind it on that wall is a row of bookcases. On the right is a balcony that shows you the garden. On the left is a table with chairs around it. Probably where the leaders discuss issues. On the back wall are photos. Photos of the alphas before him. I'm looking at them one by one but stop when I see the second to last. It's a man in his late 20s. He has broad shoulders and a kind smile. His hair is black and slicked back, but his eyes distract me. His eyes are bright blue, but with the camera light hitting them, they kind of look purplish.
