“May I have this dance?”
Emberly offered the speaker a smile and took the proffered hand the next day. She stood up and walked to the middle of the dance floor with Will. He tugged lightly on her hand, causing her to stop only a few feet away from him.
He spun her in his arms, swaying along with the song. A brilliant smile stood on his lips as he watched her, pulling her even closer to him. Emerly, feeling the numerous eyes on them, glanced around. “Everyone’s staring at us,” she whispered.
“Let them,” Will said. He spun her around, dipping her slightly. When he pulled her back into his arms, he inched her even closer to himself, ignoring the impropriety at that action. “I missed you last night. Where did you go?”
