TJ Wolfe was usually a sensible person. When it came down to it, he was the level headed one of the group. That didn't mean he was incapable of making mistakes, it just meant that he knew what the best course of action would be. He'd always been that way since he was a little boy. Doesn't mean he did the right thing, just that he knew what it was. And while TJ usually left the hand to hand combat to Kaleb, he had a particular swagger as he walked down the hallway.
He'd gone with Annie to her classroom, even though she'd gotten a demerit for being late and then he was faced with one of those decisions. He could go to his class, calm down a little and then catch up with Annie afterwards. Or he could skip class altogether (he was already late anyway) and go find Conner.
