Chapter 3 The Girl

KAI'S POV

We threw the criminals into a makeshift jail and continued towards our destination. while a messenger crow went back to capital.

"what the he'll is wraith" remained on everyone's kind the rest of the trip.

We finally reached base camp and started construction. So I went searching for a starter point along the base of mountain.

I searched what seemed like ages till I spotted something odd among the rock. "a hatch" I thought. Once I got closer I attempted to lift the hatch but it wouldn't budge. "it looks old and rusty maybe I can just burn it"

I threw a fireball at it. nothing happened. so I threw several more. It cracked a little but that's it. "hard door" I grumbled. Upset I stomped on the door and I fell through. "Finally" I groaned.

Fire came to life in my hand as I made my way down the stairs and into a cave like maze.

I came to several dead ends and had to back track and try different route. I left scorch marks on the pathways that led to dead ends.

A Entire day had passed by time I found a room with crystals. The crystals each sparkled with thier own unique color & brightness.

I followed them with my eyes to 1 particular giant crystal in middle of the room. "A girl? how is that possible?". I continued to stare at this crystal in disbelief. "no way, it's not real"

I took note where this cave was before I went back way I came. Once I returned to base camp I was instantly bombarded..

"SIR. The miners are ready to get started if you have a location" Sean spoke.

"we need another group to get food and water" Rose raised her voice.

"need firewood" Chelsey squeaked.

I sighed rubbing my temples.

"Chelsey, you can make water.. so just do it, Rose go get firewood. Hugo take some people go hunting." I ordered. then turned to Sean.

"next time handle that little stuff yourself, let's go get these miners started." i groaned while Sean chuckled.

I led them back to the crystal cave.Everyone was shocked at the amount of crystals.

"why does that big one look like that?" a worker asked

" no idea, but let's get these little guys going and find a way to haul that big one out." I suggested.

The workers spent next few days hauling the crystals back to camp. while me and Sean worked on a plan to get the big crystal out.

" what if you make opening to surface and just use the rock underneath to push it up. Then Hugo and chelsey make a slide. while me and Rose push the crystal onto the slide?" I suggested.

" I dont think chelsey has the strength to hold that crystal in a slide" Sean stated bluntly.

" your right. but my plan is for her to use water guide the direction it goes while Hugo holds the actual weight of it." I countered.

"that might actually work." he admitted.

we sent a worker to fetch the others for our plan. After I explained thier roles they went outside and waited for the signal form the hole.

Sean boosted us to ceiling of the cave. then he started moving the rock creating a hole . several moments passed and I noticed Sean was sweating. " this is a lot of earth to move. we must be deep" he grunted.

A stream of light started to come through. Slowly growing, Until the rocks gave way to the sky above.

"nice job" I commented while shooting a signal flame into the sky.

It didn't take long for the others to be looking through hole at us. " hey down there! you guys took forever!" Rose teased. Sean shrugged before quickly lowering.

" ready boss" Sean asked. I nodded then shouted "get ready up there we're coming up". I walked over to the crystal and stood next to it. Sean then used all his strength to move me and the crystal up through the hole.

I ready myself behind the crystal. "ready everyone?" I asked as I placed my hands on the crystal.

"yes sir" they said in union. rose came up next time and before she could touch the crystal it started glowing and cracking.

"what's going on?" Rose asked stunned.

the others watched. curious why the crystal suddenly was crumbling. All I could do was watch as slowly a body became visible. "I didnt imagine it. there really was a girl in there" I thought.

when the dust and steam disappeared there she was a girl curled up in ball. Her caramel colored hair displayed out around her. it reaching her bottom. Her eyes were closed but her flesh was warm her cheeks pink. she wore a simple short white dress.

I reached for her hand when her eyes suddenly opened. Stunning bright ocean blue eyes stared at me.

"what are you doing?" she spoke.

" I well..", I fumbled with my words as a blush creeped onto my face. "well I was just seeing if you were still alive."

She sat up and looked around. "where am i?"

"ah in a crystal?" Rose stated. she looked at where she sat. then rubbed her head. " why?"

"Was hoping you'd tell us" Hugo growled. crossing his arms.

I crouched next to her and took her hand. " you don't remember anything do you?" I asked concerned.

" not really, but my name is Eve" she replied.

I helped her up and out of the crystal. Eve tripped and I caught her. I held her for a good minute before she pushed me away. "thank you" Eve whispered while blushing.
