Chapter 2 Caravan

KAI'S POV

-500. years later-

"knock knock "

"who is it?" I asked through my bedroom door.

"the king & general request your presence" the voice echoed through the halls. I groaned" Be right there". as i finished putting my leather boots on.

The man at the door patiently waited for me, so he could escort me to the king.

My boots echoed in the long empty hallways. "still to early for even the maids to be awake" I thought.

We stopped in front of a door. the man put his hand up when I reached for the door " allow me" he stated. then pushing my hand away to open the doors. he bowed to the king as he opened the doors. "Kai. your majesty"

"yes. Kai. come in" the kings voice invited. i walked in and saw the king conversing with the general over a war table.

The king had bushy long brown hair & beard. his crown is gold with tons of jewels. He was wearing his famous red cape with fur lining all the way along it.

The general however was bald wearing his military uniform which was different shades of black. black pants, white tank top with black vest.

"your majesty. General." I said bowing. the king waved his hand. "come now brother stop it." I sighed

"my apologies Lucas and John." I muttered.

"Kai do you think we should reinforce this mountain" Lucas asked as he pointed to spot on the map. I walked over and looked over the map.

" is there reason why you want to reinforce a vacant mountain?" I asked.

" the crystals" he stated.

I waited for a explanation before answering his question. he sighed.

"we need the crystals for Raven's new machine." john explained.

"what does it do?"

" extracts the crystals essence. Once we have enough it can power the train from us to king Bastion. for an eternity." Raven answered as he entered the room. His hair was black and slicked back. he wore lab coat and Grey slacks with a mishevious look on his face.

"it's great way to achieve a peace treaty." Lucas added.

I nodded." that's actually good idea."

I paused for sec then pointed to a spot near the mountain. "here. this spot will give us quick entrance to mountain and will be perfect spot to set up a base camp." then i pointed to another area " this would be where you'd want a military base if you needed one at all" I commented

Lucas rubbed his face for minute in thought. " okay, but I want you to lead the expedition out there and set up the base camp."

"I can do that" I agreeded.

Not even 2 hrs passed and I had a caravan ready to go out there. John came out from barracks. "Kai, 4 recruits ought be enough to protect the workers."

"of course" I answered. surprised he even gave me any... usually he sends me by myself. these crystals must be very important.

The recruits were whispering to each other and giggling before I interrupted them " would you like to share?" I questioned them.

"NO SIR" they answered while saluting me. I shook my head and smirked. They got lot leaning to do if they want be soliders. So we finally headed out.

It really didn't take long to run into trouble. we're 3 days out still and have to figure out new way over the river because the bridge is gone.

"Recruits!" I called " Names and element now!" I ordered.

"Chelsey, water" squeaked the girl with blue hair in twin tails. she wore a purple vest over a white shirt, purple skirt with white leggings.

"Rose, Fire" said other girl. Her hair was blonde, choppy, and short. She wore brown vest, white shirt and brown skirt.

"Hugo, air" answered the boy with short, white wild hair. he wore a gray shirt, blue pants.

"Sean, earth" replied the muscular guy with black spikey hair.. wearing ripped up sleeveless shirt and ripped up pants.

"shoot if there were 2 water or even 2 earth. getting across the water would be easy peazy... wait what if I have Chelsey move water away from one spot and raised the earth ."

"I think I know easiest way get across without adding extra day to our trip" I said out loud.

"Chelsey move water little bit at time while Sean you raise an earth bridge" I ordered. they did as they were told, but man it was a struggle. Chelsey clearly isn't very strong at controlling natural water because Sean barely had time to get enough earth up to hold agaisnt Chelsey's water.

The next day another issue occurred. We came upon a village that was burning. Spite our attempts make it better. Rose and Hugo were makeing things worse.

" Rose, Hugo stop using your powers your just feeding the fires! evacuate the people.!" I yelled at them.

right after I said what I did bunch shady individuals started running from the scene. "Hugo!, Rose!" I yelled while chasing them down.

They looked over and followed suit.

Hugo blew past me and created a tornado infront the group. Me and Rose ran up behind behind them "stop" Rose scolded.

They attacked us.

First went after Rose who was taken a back and recieved a rock to the stomach. I took the second and pinned him to the ground. " what are you doing?" I asked. Hugo's tornado was stopped short when another air user made his own tornado Rose recovered and angrily attacked the other 2 remaining.

"Rose wait" I called out. she didn't listen. instead she sent a fire blast at a earth user and went after the other fire user.

I Restained the guy I held and ran towards earth user whom was getting ready to launch another rock at Rose. i intercepted just in time. Rose neutralized the other fire user, and we worked together to take the remaining 2 down.

"why did you set that village a blaze?" I demanded

"for Wraith!" they shouted.
