My concern for Mathias is growing by the day. I know his high dudgeon over “Ascot Day” was somewhat warranted (though I didn’t have the heart to tell him I won five pounds on Dashing Lady), but rest assured, no disciplinary action will be taken despite his vehement protestations. Mathias has always been a curmudgeon, but the intensity of his anger in this regard is uncharacteristic. I attempted to speak with him about the incident and expressed the belief that conservators should be allowed to relax from time to time.
