Chapter 16I settled in back home in New York. The nights were dark and cold, even though it was spring. Days were busy and boring. God, I missed that woman! I knew I could call every night, and most nights I did, but I wanted to feel her next to me, my arms around her, and my fingers in her. Yes, I missed all of her.
Then I got a call from an old friend.
“Car? This is Danny Forrester!”
“Danny! Where have you been, girl?”
“I’ve been working in Ottawa, but I’m coming into New York City for a few days and wanted to find out how I can see you.”
“When are you coming in?”
“I’ll fly in next Tuesday morning and fly out again the following Tuesday or Wednesday.”
“You’re not booking a hotel, are you?”
“I did.”
“Cancel it. You can stay here. There’s plenty of room.”
