Chapter 21Chris reached for her phone, dialed the number, and placed it on speaker.
“Hi, Jane. I know you wanted to shoot another set of ads to come out when the movie does and that’s one of the reasons I’m calling. How do I get out of my contract gracefully?”
Jane’s response didn’t seem too positive. She was silent for quite a while.
“Car asked me to marry her.” There. As plain as could be.
“And when would this happen?”
“As soon as we can. She’s on the line, too.”
“Hi Jane,” I called out as Chris put the phone on the counter.
“Congratulations to both of you. Are you planning a big wedding?”
“I’d love to be that open about it, but Jelly asked that we keep it quiet until we see if the movie flies. Besides, I don’t want you and Adam suing me and charging me for the filming of the ads
