Chapter 24“Let me get this straight,” Judith said as she studied my face. “This is a woman who tried to break up you and Ms. Chris last year and I have to be nice to her?”
I had to laugh. “Yes. That was all in the past. Now we want her on our side so she’ll take over Chris’s Chellen duties and we can get married. But she can’t know that yet.” Susan and Judith were standing in the kitchen listening to me explain who would be visiting for the next few days.
“The name is familiar, though,” Susan said. “Isn’t she the one who was involved with that Joyce?”
I nodded.
Susan frowned. “I have mixed feelings about that. It hurt you quite a bit, but it did get rid of that woman. I never really liked her.”
