“Then you just might like the dessert.” He took the dirty dishes off the table and took them forward into the galley. Sherman came into the cabin. “Ready to leave, Ms. Car?” “You’re the boss. I’ve told you that before.” “But I like to check with you first. You do sign my paycheck.” “And the paycheck is for you to be the captain.” He turned, laughing loudly, and went up to the pilothouse.
