Chapter 10The next day, Chris and I took Russell shopping in Castries. We brought Brian with us so I could buy the few things I’d had seen earlier.
“Let’s stop for lunch, first,” Chris said. “My treat this time.”
We stopped at the outside café we liked and Chris introduced Russell and Brian to flying fish and banana ketchup. Russell seemed to especially enjoy it. When we were done, we went shopping.
Russell was looking at some of the gorgeous crystal jewelry.
“Do you think this is pretty?” he asked, holding up a necklace.
“On you? No,” I answered.
He laughed. “I have to bring something back to my girlfriend.”
“A girlfriend? Is it serious?”
“I think so. We’ve been dating for three years.”
