VINNY’S POV
It’s been a month and a half since that spectacle at Club Euphoria. I’ve been keeping my distance from Sage, knowing we couldn’t be around each other right now.
I may have had restraint back then, but not so much now.
My thoughts are filled with Sage and her half naked body. My dreams are plagued with images of her and everything about her honestly.
It’s driving me crazy.
I don’t know how I’m gonna survive another year. Her seventeen birthday is in four more months, but that still leaves a whole other year until I claim her as mine.
A year is just too f*****g long.
“Vinny!” Cat yelled out as she ripped my headphones out of my ears as I ran on the treadmill.
I hopped off and glared at her, “What the f**k Caterina?!”
“I’ve called your name like twenty times Vinny.”
“Well I obviously didn’t hear you!” I growled back as I snatched my headphones out of her hands, “Leave me alone and let me work out.”
“What’s your problem?” She questioned with furrowed brows, “Your never mean to me, so spill it brother.”
I sighed out, knowing she was right. I was never mean with her, if anything, I’ve never raised my voice with her.
My anger was usually directed towards the twins, considering they didn’t listen to well.
“I’ve just been frustrated with work, thats all.” I reassured as I wiped the sweat from my brows.
“Bullshit brother.” Cat retorted, “Work doesn’t make you like this. You never bring your work home, thats something father taught you well.”
I couldn’t help but laugh, knowing Cat was too cunning. She saw past what was being presented to her and looked deeper.
That’s what made her special.
She could see through anything.
“It’s Sage.” I confessed, “After that night at Club Euphoria, I’ve been trying to keep my distance, but it’s a lot harder than I thought.”
She smirked as she handed me a bottle of water.
“No wonder why Sage keeps bugging me about you.” She retorted.
“What has she been saying?”
“She’s wondering why you keep ignoring her. She also wants to know what you’ve been spending your time on.” She smirked as she played with her hair, “I think she’s starting to think that you hate her.”
“I don’t hate her!” I yelled back, watching her enjoy every second of this.
“I know, but she doesn’t. So fix it and stop making her bring your relationship problems to me.” She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. “I have my own relationship problems I have to deal with.”
I furrowed my brows and took a sip of my water, “What relationship problems do you have? Who are you in a relationship with?”
“No one.” She quickly replied as I small glint of fear crossed her hazel eyes before it instantly disappeared.
“Mhmhm.” I mumbled, knowing she was lying.
“Anyways.. Have you heard from Rámon lately?” She questioned as she shifted on her feet, “I’ve been trying to hang out with him, but he keeps telling me he’s busy.”
I haven’t really heard from Rámon in the last week. He seems to be dealing with his own problems, which I’m sure is work.
Being a Don isn’t easy work.
“He’s probably busy with work.” I reassured, “Our jobs aren’t easy you know.”
“I know.” She glared at me as she clicked her tongue, “But he usually comes to see me, even if it’s just for ten minutes.”
“Don’t over think it.” I sighed, “He’s busy with work. He’ll come around when he’s free.”
“Thanks for the help.” She sarcastically replied as she left the gym, but not before flipping me off.
I laughed, knowing Cat was a little s**t. Rámon had his hands full with her.
I took a seat on the weight bench and thought about Sage.
I didn’t want her to think I hated her, but I also needed to be careful around her. I needed to behave and keep my restraint, even though I wanted her more than anything.
I think it was finally time I saw her again.
…
I stood outside of Sage’s dance studio, waiting for her practice to be over. I sent her father’s men away a long time ago, knowing they couldn’t protect her better than I ever could.
I was leaning against my Rolls Royce while smoking a cigarette.
I looked down at my suit, making sure there were no wrinkles in it. I pressed it myself today, knowing I wanted to look perfect for her.
I planned to take her out for dinner tonight, even though it was after 9pm. I’m sure she was still hungry, even with it being late.
I puffed on my cigarette until it burned out. I threw it to the ground before I walked towards the studio.
She was taking too long and I was too impatient to wait on her any longer.
I needed to see her.
I pulled the studio doors opened and wandered down the empty halls, seeing the different rooms encased with glass.
In the last room down the hall, I saw a group of students. They formed a circle and watched a student dance in the middle.
The closer I looked, the more I noticed that it was Sage.
Without a second thought, I pulled the door open and entered the room. The music was too loud for anyone to notice my presence, so I stayed in the background and just watched.
She danced around the circle, looking like an angel.
She wore a white leotard with a pair of tiny shorts over it, showcasing her curvy body. Her movements were fluid and graceful, as if dancing came easy for her.
She was magnificent.
The music started to come to an end while she gracefully jumped in the air and landed on her feet, perfectly.
I clapped my hands, not being able to stop myself. She deserved an applause after that performance.
My applause made my presence known to the group, making everyone turn around and notice me.
The students had flirty expressions as they waved and smiled. Sage looked confused and slightly annoyed that I was here.
Their teacher said a few words before dismissing the class. I watched as everyone grabbed their things before piling out of the room.
“Hi Vinny.” A couple of girls greeted before leaving.
I ignored them and kept my eyes on Sage. She was sitting on the floor, taking her sweet old time as she packed her things into her bag.
I walked over to her, knowing I had a lot of making up to do for ignoring her.
“Need any help?” I asked.
“Nope.” She didn’t even spare me a glance as she changed her shoes.
“You did good out there.” I praised, “I knew you were a good dancer, but that was amazing.”
She finally met my gaze, but she didn’t have a smile on her face.
“What do you want Vincenzo?” She bluntly asked, “You obviously have been ignoring me, so what the hell do you want now?”
When she used my full name, she meant business.
“I’m sorry Sage.” I apologized, “My intentions weren’t to hurt you.”
“Well you did a horrible job.” She rolled her eyes and stood up before walking away from me.
“I’m taking you out to dinner.” I followed behind her and caught up to her. “I hope you’re hungry.”
“Not interested. My father’s men are waiting for me outside.”
“I dismissed them.” I smirked, making her turn around and glare at me, “I’m taking you home tonight, but I hope you’ll have dinner with me first.”
She sighed out, “Seems like I have no choice.”
“Not really.” I chuckled.
She rolled her eyes before walking away, “Keep up Vinny and don’t lag behind.”
I laughed, knowing that was my woman.
So feisty.
…
I rented out one of the fanciest restaurants in the city.
Sage and I sat across from each other at a candlelight dinner. The finest foods surrounded us, but the tension between us dampened the mood.
Sage ate her food in silence and totally ignored me. I decided to eat my food too, but I kept my eyes on her the whole time.
She was really pissed, but I didn’t blame her.
“I don’t hate you Sage.” I spoke out as I set my cutlery down, not having an appetite anymore. “And I don’t want you to hate me. I don’t ever want us to hate each other.”
I hated when she was mad at me.
My suit jacket was draped over her, considering she barely had any clothes on. I didn’t expect her to be dressed like this at dance practice.
If anything, it made it harder for me to control my carnal desires.
She looked too good not to touch.
“I don’t hate you.” She sighed out as she set her cutlery down and finally met my gaze, “You just hurt me, thats all.”
“I know and I’m sorry.”
She nodded her head before taking a sip of her water.
“Tell me what I did wrong? Why have you been ignoring me?”
“It’s not you.” I reassured, “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
She scoffed, looking even more annoyed, “Don’t tell me ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ bullshit.”
I smirked, knowing she was too smart for my white lies.
“You really didn’t do anything wrong Sage, I just had my own problems I had to work through.”
“What kind of problems?” She questioned with a curious look in her beautiful hazel eyes.
I hesitated, not knowing what to say.
“Why do you even like me Vinny?” She questioned with an edge to her voice, “Were supposed to trust each other, but your not being honest with me.”
I sighed out, feeling some of my control slip away.
“You want the truth?” I questioned, making her nod her head. “I’ve stayed away because I can’t control myself around you. Every time I’m around you, I want to f*****g ravish you. Since last month, I can’t get you or your f*****g body out of my head. You’re driving me crazy and I know if I keep coming around you, I’m gonna loose control.”
My chest heaved as I laid it all out on the table.
I felt exposed and vulnerable, but i knew I had to be honest and transparent with her. That was the only way she was gonna trust me.
She laughed out, filling the silent room with her sexy voice. “And here I thought that you didn’t want me anymore.”
“I love you Sage. I won’t ever stop chasing you.” I confessed, making her smile.
There was that smile that I loved so much.
She stood up from her seat and walked around the table before crawling into my lap. Her ass sat right on my crotch, erupting a wave of desire through me.
“Sage.” I groaned out, feeling like I was gonna combust.
“My birthday is coming up.” She whispered as she trailed her fingers over the outline of my face.
“I know.” I cleared my throat and tried to control my breathing.
“Do you know what I want as a present?” She asked, making me more curious by the second.
“What would you like?” I asked back, “I’ll get you whatever you desire.”
She smirked as she trailed her thumb over my lips.
“I want a kiss.” She whispered as her eyes stared into mine. “I’ve got a burning desire to feel your lips on mine.”
I swallowed, feeling like I walked right into her trap.
“Will you fulfill my wish?”
“I-I-I, don’t k-know.” I stuttered, feeling like I was a kid again.
“Oh come on Vinny.. you promised to give me whatever I desire.” She whined, “And I desire a kiss from your sexy lips.”
I released a heavy breath as my eyes trailed down to her pink and plump lips.
I’ve dreamed about kissing her.
All I’ve ever wanted to do was kiss her.
“So, will you give me my kiss?” She asked with a sneaky smirk on her face.
“Yes.” I breathed out, knowing I just signed my death certificate.
“Good!” She cheered before she wrapped her arms around my neck and bounced in my lap.
My c**k painfully throbbed as she continued to bounce her ass in my lap.
She was killing me.
“Fuck.” I groaned out, “Let’s get you home.”
She giggled before placing a quick kiss on the side of my lips before standing up.
I smiled, knowing she was perfect for me.
She was a testy little thing, but I loved everything about her—even her feistiness.
She was perfect.
